red card player

I have a player (Giménez) in Squad Battles who received a red card. 
Even after playing a match with a new squad and leaving him in my club, he still appears as banned: 
“The following players are banned: Giménez. Replace banned players from RES or My Club.” 
I cannot advance with him in my squad.
What should i do?
