Lost founder evolution player back to gold

What happens when the bug occurs? I used my founder evolution on Julian Alvarez and it has disappeared completely. I was just playing 3 games and he turned from the base evolution version into a gold. The evolution also disappeared at the evolution section and so I can’t do another one.
What should be happening instead? The evolution should be working as the game told me it would.
