I have no idea and I’m afraid to try it since my current card is in my active team :D
did you try this? did it work if you quick sold the player?

This is from EA evolution official deep dive patch notes where it confirms you can do multiple evolutions of the same card after completed evolution

Might be worth just trying it on another account with 2 random free evos on a bronze
I’ve done a bit more digging on another account using the same random bronze player who would fit into 2 different evos. Obviously he works on the first initial evo and you get the same message saying you already have this player in another evo.
however upon trying to quick sell the incomplete evo card it say you cannot quick sell the player whilst they are an evo. I do not know if this would have any impact if you completed the evo. But I have a feeling that we simply aren’t going to be able to evo the “same version” of a card more than once, yes we can upgrade the same evo multiple times but I don’t think the same version will apply.
this is so annoying because I spent money at the start of the game to get a better Garnacho but now the centurions evo gives him a better card which I cannot access. Thanks ea! I hope this gets resolved
I did it with 85 Sallai, a quick selled him and then a bought a new 81 inform Sallai then i put him in the new centurions cam evolution and I brought it back the 85 from the quick sell recovery and put him an sbc and now 82 stuck in my unsigned items and a can't quick sell him or send to my club
Works differently for informs vs there normal cards apparently

I haven’t tried that, I’m not wasting my time doing it I can’t be bothered because it’s the centurion ones and they’re all like 25 games

you won’t be able to claim him back they’ll say that he’s a duplicate
You can apply a contract/chemstyle and you you wols be able to send to club
I tried it. Now I cant submit the card into my club because it says I have duplicate that I have quick selled already in the past.
Doesn’t work. Still comes up the same error message. Now I have recovered my Peter crouch on the app and it won’t let me put him back into my club as it says he’s a duplicate. Can’t access my packs without another error message. Games a joke
Just went through this whole thread it’s actually insane that it’s been going on this long I just faced the same issue last night when trying to Evo my 86 rated Alejandro Garnacho he fits perfectly into the new secret stuff Evo and I really wanted to evolve him when i got the error message “you already have an evolution of this player” which doesn’t make sense because at the beginning of the game I had already put this Garnacho into 2 separate evos being the “relentless winger” and the “centurions sharpshooter” as well as the “welcome to evolutions” it’s really not fair that when now I have the chance to evolve this card I get this error message please if there’s any solution let me know it would be a big help thanks everyone 🙏

Hello, the same is happening to me.
I've tried to evolve a player and it said it couldn't be evolved. I've tried to quick sell and recover to prevent any potential bug from EA and it was even worse...
Now i can't recover it and the game crash everytime I open the store.
Has anyone figured out how to fix this?
I have the same problem with 88 schouten. Discarded him to get a first owned player in the team. Now it is stuck on this error
