I can’t figure out how a competitive game mode can have such an advantage applied by paying.

If you get Mbappe you will win more games. If you open enough packs you’ll get Mbappe or enough coins for him.

Then there’s the game setup, divisions

You’ll only know your rank by yourdivision, you’ll get relegated every few weeks so any sense of progress will get reset
You don’t have any reward or any token of your skill progression that can’t also be purchased from the store.

This is all a funnel, the whole system and the whole way of engaging with the game is a funnel to the store.



Unless, you don’t play for any rewards. And you only play to play. And if it isn’t worth it to you, don’t play at all. That I think is the only way to engage with the game.

so finally to actually reply to you. I’m on on the no pay tip as well, and I don’t care about rewards.

i don’t care about winning or losing I only care if I’m having fun and when I can’t have fun I stop. 

stopped for a month an half, I’m having fun now, but may stop again

    I agree with the gameplay but the pay to play thing is iffy. I think EA swing the game from time to time to benefit or balance certain players. I win the same amount of games whether I use my Toty players or icons vs when I use a Gold team. I’m currently 10 wins with this WL with a gold team and haven’t finished. The toty team I started my first few games with sucked. The three lettter acronym was through the roof trying to balance things and keep my opponent in the game. 
    what I’m saying it’s definitely pay to play but it’s just as unfair to someone with a good->very good team who is getting all the |)|)@ 

    this is the first year I’ve spent a couple hundred bucks and it’s made zero difference. One game my  high rated players are amazing the next they can’t even pass. 
    I will admit there are some players, Sawa, gullit, VVD, who are meta no matter what but the rest get nerfed occasionally due factors outside our control

    What do we expect from a company whose employees were seeking icons to people for real money that they think we all forgot about
