spam dribble or give up?

Am I safe to assume that the only thing worth learning in this game is how to dribble past every opponent? I am close to 50 games in and passing and moving or trying to defend seems like its completely out of the game now. I even ventured into tutorials and practice arena which I've never done. been div1, avg 15 WL wins for years without having to focus so much on beating opponents 1v1 but it seems now if you attempt to just dribble the entire time, the game favors that style of play? passes, tackles, knocks, blocks, all seem to favor any player i play that tries to dribble past everyone or get to the byline for cutback (i will admit this is defended a "little" better this year). Never had to ask for a refund but this year might be the year if they dont bring back some skill or strategy to playing this game. You know its bad when you win a game and you can't really say why and it wasn't fun. Oh and the all the bugs...

  • It seems like regular defense has been nerfed in favor of the new play styles and the new body tackling. I mean it’s strange because the community has been asking for it for years but now games are high scoring. I wouldn’t be surprised if we don’t see defense get buffed again.  Although on the other hand they banned 3 and 5 atb in pro tournaments so hard to say how balance will be going forward.

Interesting. It should definitely tell the devs something is up when certain formations get banned at the competitive level. They’re probably more concerned with the bugs right now but I could see the advanced defending being nerfed or even taken out of FUT or online gameplay, as well as the R1 dribbling. Cant even play the game at the current rate without this below happening every 30 minutes

insult to injury at this point
