The lack of remedies for accidental quick-sells is unacceptable
Accidentally quick-selling players is a common mistake within the community. This forum is littered with posts asking for help remedying these situations. Today, in the course of dropping my controller and picking it back up again, I managed to accidentally quick-sell 26 untradeable duplicate items from 85-96 overall. I was able to reclaim the top 5 players through the recovery feature, but that leaves 21 valuable players that I have been told by help services there is nothing to be done about. For a company of EA's size, with its vast manpower and resources, it is simply unacceptable that nothing can be done to help me. I spent $30-$35 real US dollars to buy the pack that all of these players came from, and they are all still connected to my account through the recovery feature, but apparently nobody has the ability to fix this. It is unconscionable. I have spent a lot of money (honestly too much money) on these games because I enjoy them so much. But how can I continue spending extra money if I have no confidence that I will be able to retain the full value of the money I spend in the case of a genuine accident.
It is also unacceptable that there is no escalation protocol within the help service. I understand that the representative that I chat with initially will likely not have the authority or ability to fix this kind of mistake. That's normal. The fact that they are then powerless to assist me by transferring me to a supervisor that has more authority or ability is almost inconceivable. It makes it seem like the help services department is not actually designed to help customers, but to apologize over and over about how there is nothing they can do to help in order to pacify me into giving up my legitimate grievance.
Let me be clear; I am not complaining about the representatives themselves. any dealings I have ever had with them have been positive. They have been professional and as helpful as they are allowed to be with their limited ability to effect any kind of meaningful relief. The issue is that EA is comfortable with its current system not ensuring that the full value of their customers money is protected. I simply refuse to believe that there is genuinely nobody who can provide sufficient relief to all of us that find ourselves in this situation. But, if that is in fact the case, then how can I ever feel confident spending additional money on an EA game again?
