Amazing goal, mine usually go way over from that distance or are blocked.
Results are turning around already, good sign for things to come.

That's a great goal! Scoring it against a top side to take a 2-0 win must have been even sweeter, having now also climbed out of the relegation zone. Perhaps a bit ambivalent for you to score it prevent Leeds from the top spot though?
6-0 win also impressive. Added to the Leeds win it could appear as if your current difficulty needs to be taken a step up?

Nice goal! May it be a trigger for better times to come (though the gap towards playoffs is doable)

Slightly conflicted but it's early on and plenty of time for Leeds to be at the top

Apologies for the inconsistencies on how this is being presented I keeping playing around and just hoping it shows up clearly. Just looking for ways to do it quick and easy on mobile so I don't lose interest on write ups. I think going forward I may stick with these match reports I've just poast if they are clear to everyone and then go more in depth with a paper like report when something more exciting happens like transfer windows or big matches etc

After 4 defeats, follow 2 wins...
Anything specific you changed around?

Slight typo Burnley game was actually a 2-1 defeat says we won 1-0 so was 4 straight defeats.
Anyways, slight change up to formation has helped I think also started going with 2 up top

I like the new match reports, easy to read and provide the important details.
Things are turning around, back to back wins. Maybe the new formation is the key.

No need to apologize mate, just do your thing and adjust it as you want over time. Sometimes you start up a career with a plug and play template for the writeups through the entire career. But sometimes it's something that needs a bit of adjusting over time, and there's nothing wrong with that. If somethings doesn't work, feel free to change it, no worries.
I noticed the same as @Danimal5981, 6-0 win at Stoke, 2-0 win vs Leeds, then four straight defeats followed by two wins. It's not easy to predict your results, that's for sure. I would have guessed you might have changed the difficulty settings along the way or something. Anyway, it does provide a cliffhanger here, as to where this save is going. I really can't tell š

Yeah, that was a typo, sorry -
Rule of thumb is, if you want to stay in you need a point per game. You're currently not on par with that, nevermind any more ambitious goals. I'd suggest to you my approach: I always try to first figure out how to keep a clean sheet, because that guarantees a point, which is what you currently need. The goals will come on their own, just keep it tight at the back.

Haven't changed difficulties, but been trying to play around with sliders. I had gameplay type on Simulation and have gone through Classic and tried to custom but can't seem to get the right feel..it's more to do with the AI behaviour. A game I just played for example opponent was unplayable to begin with (don't have issue with that) fast paced passing creating opportunities and keeping my keeper busy was actually fun. I happened to take lead against run of play but after that they kept possession lots of passes but were passing it back like they were holding onto a 1-0 lead.
Some games has felt like opponents don't wanna run and we're just walking around the pitch and passing and was becoming too easy hence that previous Stoke game. Have had a few similar situations since, but on those occasions where I know it's happening I've restarted the game and tinkered with sliders. Obviously I like winning and no issues with losing, but I want a competitive/realistic match.

Portsmouth are truly becoming a bogey team of yours. Two defeats by one goal, both after conceding in injury time. Now I hope to see you play them in one of the cups, or else you'll need to wait until next season to get your revenge.
Tough for the youth team to lose their star man, but seeing him promoted is pretty much the idea of it all and should work as a good motivation for the rest of the boys.

Unfortunately we got knocked out League Cup 1st round and unfortunately one of us has been knocked out 3rd round of FA Cup so no more games with Pompey this season unless we both make dramatic climbs up the table
Unfortunately with youth player it was one of those forced promotions because they wanted to leave etc. hoped I wouldn't have to do that yet

A great run you are on now. Whatever has changed defensively is working so stick with it. Plymouth with two red cards will have Rooney fuming but makes for an easy win for you.
12 points clear and positive in GD. I think you will be safe the way things are trending.

Slowly turning the tide, on course for that mid-table ranking (10th-12th) I predicted at the beginning. Keep going!...

More changes to tactics and a couple signings have certainly helped. Definitely find it more challenging this year gameplay wise which is good
- JustinCase01105 months agoSeasoned Ace
You're hard on Plymouth Argyle, first beating them 4-0 and then signing their top scorer. There are certainly going down, and Rooney's career as manager could well be over, almost before it has even begun.
I like the signing very much, using in game statistics and performances as the motivation to sign a player.

It was kinda because of the intro of that game the commentators not shutting up about him is why I looked into him
Hadn't planned anymore than the one initially, but thought this works for now. The permanent signing of Yu Hirakawa was mentioned purely because his parent club isn't in the game

Right when it looked like you were turning it around, results slipped again. You are safe now at least so the main goal is accomplished.
