Took me a while to get a career up and running. I've found it to be a bit frustrating so far, not being able to start with a closed first transfer window. Before I'd even got to my first game, the squads were already unrecognizable with so many transfers in and out, and most of my pre-season expectations were rendered quite useless already. Vlahovic to City and Scalvini to Liverpool as my prime examples.
Hopefully the "start with closed transfer window" option will work again at some point soon. But right now I'll just try to kick this Serie A thing off and see where it takes me.
But with the massive transfers being done already, I can't stop wondering: With all the options and settings you need to choose when starting a career, I can't fathom why we can't slow down the AI transfers a bit. Would be nice to be able to go a few seasons in and still recognize some of the teams you're playing against.

I agree. I've also started, then restarted several times to see what settings suit me best. Also, a lot of September transfers have not been processed. So, I'm keeping myself occupied with implementing real stadium names, adjust sliders for realistic gameplay and working out the virtual UEFA coefficient list (read: take out teams not in the game, then recalculate), until the time comes I can make a full start.
