Why is my pro clubs ai defending and passing so bad?

My AI defence is so bad every game, while my opponents are really solid, they refuse to tackle the ball, keep missing passes to other AIs, get caught out of position all the time even though i tell them to stay back while attacking and pass directly to the other team. I've tried different tactics, I'm currently running 4-2-3-1 attacking and they suck, it's completely unplayable.

PS. they also seem to for some reason do 180's every time I call for a pass and then most of the time they straight up ignore me and then lose the ball

  • It’s so bad. Every time an attacker makes a sprinting run at the line nobody tracks him and it’s a 3v1 every possession. We concede a minimum of 4 goals a game due to this. 
    Not to mention the passing, the AI can never make a pass in stride they have to take 2-3 touches before releasing the ball. And when they do it usually goes astray 

  • Still an issue almost a year later. Never win headers, even if they do it goes back to opponent, yep, call for pass, AI turns the other way into danger often losing ball before playing pass, one center back drops a few meters deep inexplicably allowing opponent to stand in the space and receive a simple through ball, defenders just jog alongside opponent running in straight line no tackles no attempt to stop them shooting.

    Opponents AI is other worldly, wins everything in the air, aggressive as hell, steams into the back of players winning the ball, opponent is also faster, more agile, gets every lose ball, gets ever pass off despite being tackled ball bounces to where they wanted it.

    check opponents AI rating in performance tab, oh, they have an 82 rated Ai, we have an 88, that’s weird, ah yes, clubs has the same bull**bleep** engine UT has, where numbers are made up on the spot, DDA rules. No wonder my players with their 99 ball control stats, can’t not take a touch into the car park.

    its a **bleep** game EA. You ain’t playing opponent, you are also playing against your own AI. Even when winning it feels hollow, because you know the other poor **bleep**er is experiencing the same issues you have been in a prior game.

    Someone really needs to put out a rival to you hacks, I sincerely hope they do, a lot will go over, maybe once your share price tanks, after your greed pack selling orgy is done, your developers might focus on something other than how to game the system so that no matter how many packs you buy and how high your cards are, the scummy devs will downgrade them forcing you to get the next TOTW cards, an endless cycle of **bleep**.

    It's because you call for the ball double tap R1/RB when each ai gains possession and they'll make the right pass maybe even take someone on they are hesitant due to waiting for the call this negates the call. You should never call for the ball it's EA answer to a turnover due to bad programming and is there because 95% of players don't know how to move off the ball, instead of EA throwing in some tutorials to show players how and where to move they instead introduced the ping pong button.

    Fc26 clubs.  Why is ai only playing better for opponent but my players just standing there doing nothing every game.  We have tried everything. Its broken please fix this. It was in fc25 now to fc26. Fc23 and fc24 was ok

    Obviously a skill issue here in bots. It seems like high rated get worse ai bots

    When your ai has control of it double tap RB/R1 it wakes the ai up from waiting for a call from human players and it gives a decent ball to a human or another ai. You have to double RB/R1 each time a ai receives the ball even the gk. You don't ever need to call for the ball, calling for the ball make the ai make mistakes and that's how EA programme turnovers. When defending hold RB/R1 and an ai will close the ball down and you cover the ai incase it is unsuccessful.
