Hi mate, good to see you back here!
Plenty of good things to report. Gameplay fun and challenging. And there's a competition for your youth team, so one can implement youth team football in ones story, adding more depth to the story of a young player being promoted to the first team and handed his debut. All in all a good experience so far. One needs to set up the save right though. If you set it up with a "closed first transfer window", transfers are removed completely from the game it seems. A bug that will hopefully soon be fixed. But if you start with an open window, then everything seems to work.
However, they've made quite a big deal of trying to make youth players look / appear young. Most agree that they've taken it a step too far though, so a lot of the youngsters are just 5'2 with faces making them look like little girls. Sometimes you come across a talent that looks decent, but the rest of the talents I find? No, can't see myself including them to the first team with their childish and girlish appearances. And I don't expect them to age either, so I can't imagine myself playing 6-8 seasons in and seeing these dolls represent a 24-25 year old. No way. I really hope they revert this to the way it was or at least allow us to edit these things ourselves.

Just to clarify I believe this is a lucky dip bug, many reporting the issue, I however and others haven't had that issue so I don't entirely know what is causing it.
But in general it's each to their own on opinions, if you look at rest of the forum you'll see about 600 threads telling us it's the worst game ever like every other year. I have a few niggly things that big me, but overall I'm enjoying it especially career mode

On that note regarding transfers another issue I had been hearing about which turns out I'm also having issues not receiving notifications of bids only a message when they have pulled out because you've basically ignored them so transfer hub needs to be checked regularly especially if you have players listed.

I don't understand how these things so easily creep in. It's crazy, really. - 5 months ago@JustinCase0110 Thanks. I'll have the game by the end of the month, I think. Might do a story then.

Maybe he should go to United. Ten Hag has 'a process' that doesn't seem to be working. Maybe Frank's does...Heh, good shout. I wouldn't wish it for him though. It does seem that United as a club seem to have a pretty poor record of turning good managers into poor ones. Perhaps the players are also responsible at some point. (longer discussion perhaps, let's just leave it there...😉)
I know a good place for this discussion 😜

Another minor little thing that is bugging me. Once you come to December and you get the notification of players contracts coming to an end. If you don't wish to renew a contract or at least not make an immediate decision it permanently remains in your Tasks on Central tab. Again it's not a game breaking thing, but I do find it annoying 😂

Just for laughs one of the City players in my career has told me he wants to leave and is fed up with his lack of opportunities blah blah blah even tho he's playing loads. It's not everyday you can send an actual screen shot of this to the actual player moaning about it 😂

Well, entering January, some transfer offers didn't come up on the main page, so I had to check the transfer hub almost daily in order not to miss any if them. I did receive a few angry e-mails that I hadn't responded to an approach made for one of my players. I just hadn't seen the offer before then... This especially happened on Deadline Day, I think, needing to check the transfer hub every hour.

I don't know if this is new or not and I keep forgetting to take screen shots when comes up.
I know in previous games during match intro or match we've had mentions of best home form or least goals scored etc, but I've had actual league tables come up for Home matches only showing top 5 as well as a list of the lowest scorers in another. Not sure if new but it's not something I've seen in previous games

To my knowledge such things were mentioned during the game, not during the intro...

I noticed a bug, where one team in Europa League does not plays games at all (Jagiellonia) and is replaced by another that now play double (the real team are also in this tournament), sometimes even on the same day 🙂

Yes, I agree. Awful amount of huge transfers, already from the start. With all the 'choices' we can now make when starting a career, we really should be able to set the AI transfer activity to normal, limited, excessive or whatever they'd call it.

Not played CM yet this year due to work (will be starting a Vasteras SK save in early November).
Loving the fact CMs getting so much in the patch notes though, and adding new settings for board objectives is amazing.
Good to see everyone reporting bugs though, any major ones left in?

Erik ten Hag is fired. Live start point incoming...
- Danimal59814 months agoSeasoned Ace
Another to enter the manager's graveyard: Moyes, Van Gaal, Mourinho, Solskjær, Rangnick, Ten Hag and some interims in-between...
Honestly, to me the people at that club just don't get it... Arteta is in his 5th season at Arsenal, Klopp needed 4 years to make a machine out of Liverpool. In other words, two seasons and a bit is too short: whether it's Van Gaal, Mourinho, or Ten Hag - those men have had success everywhere they went to... apart from Manchester United. It's no longer that a manager fails the club, it's the club failing every manager that tries there. That club needs to desperately need to get rid of all those foreign players and go back to basics: open up a can of youngsters and they'll do better than any of the teams of late.

Dunno how true, but heard they waiting for FA Cup 3rd round draw then everyone's cup comletit7will be correct/up-to-date and be released after that.
I'll get caught up on everyone's stories soon enough hectic week and not even had time to sort my own updates. Probably won't be doing much on Bristol City career in near future as I'll be away from my console, but will have access to XB1 so likely get going on another career for when I'm there

I would find it very strange, if the FA Cup draw would have anything to do with it. I know EA have a preference for the English league system, as evidenced by 4 Football League tiers compared to 3 in Germany and maximum 2 everywhere else.
But I can't see how a draw for a national cup competition's 3rd round would have anything to do with the introduction of the live start points that were announced months ago. I appreciate you mentioning this, providing this kind of information that could perhaps cast light on the matter. But this one I really don't buy.

@Danimal5981I recall 1989, discussing with my brother-in-law the need to fire Alex Ferguson (he was the one saying it; I said he needed time).
I remember the 'Ta-Ra Fergie' banners in the Stretford End...
You're right; managers are not given time; HOWEVER:
the one thing about EtH is that, over 2.5 years, he'd pretty much got an entire side of players that he mostly wanted and yet there was no discernible playing style and the club seemed to be going backwards. Many of those players are ones he's previously worked with, presumably recruited with a way of playing in mind that we could expect them to know and be comfortable with. It simply wasn't working.
Whoever comes in next simply has to be good, AND given time. They have to be good at improving what they have inherited, because there won't be a whole load of new ones coming in.
I must confess that I'm getting sick of the constant change and some of that must be down to a core of players that can't be bothered. Someone needs to put the fear of god into them. The thing about Arteta and Klopp was that, even in the early months and years, you could see improvement in playing style and results. Under EtH, the club seems to be oing backwards in terms of league results and no development of a playing style.

"I know EA have a preference for the English league system, as evidenced by 4 Football League tiers compared to 3 in Germany and maximum 2 everywhere else."
Maybe I need to brush up on European football a bit more, but I thought it was because, in most European countries, outside the top two (3 in Germany) divisions, the clubs are mostly part-time, whereas in England, we have 4 divisions of professional teams - in fact, the Conference is increasingly littered with fully professional clubs.
Also, it might be linked to what is defined as a 'national divisional' organisation. In England, there have been 92 clubs in 'the league' (as in: the Football League) for the best part of 100 years, and since the 1950s they are four nationally-organised divisions. Not sure this is the case elsewhere...
Taking Italy as an example; beyond Serie B, I understand Serie C is three regional divisions...in Germany, after the 'national' third division it becomes regional.
So I'm not sure it is 'a preference' on the part of EA but more to do with organisational structure and the professional/non-professional status of most of the clubs. - JustinCase01104 months agoSeasoned Ace
@CO88LER5 maybe you're right. But still, the Premier League has also been first in line when it comes to player likenesses and the introduction of real stadiums etc. Real managers too. Serie A clubs are far behind, also due to licensing matters. France had a few teams scanned for this game, but are also far behind, whilst Germany and Spain have had both players and stadiums made in recent years. But still, far later than the English clubs that started this process much earlier.
I'm not saying this is wrong. It's okay for the English clubs to be first in line, as it's one of the most popular leagues around. I just don't believe that a 3rd round FA Cup draw will have anything to do with the introduction of the promised Live Start Points. I could be wrong though...
