Erik ten Hag is fired. Live start point incoming...

Dunno how true, but heard they waiting for FA Cup 3rd round draw then everyone's cup comletit7will be correct/up-to-date and be released after that.
I'll get caught up on everyone's stories soon enough hectic week and not even had time to sort my own updates. Probably won't be doing much on Bristol City career in near future as I'll be away from my console, but will have access to XB1 so likely get going on another career for when I'm there

I would find it very strange, if the FA Cup draw would have anything to do with it. I know EA have a preference for the English league system, as evidenced by 4 Football League tiers compared to 3 in Germany and maximum 2 everywhere else.
But I can't see how a draw for a national cup competition's 3rd round would have anything to do with the introduction of the live start points that were announced months ago. I appreciate you mentioning this, providing this kind of information that could perhaps cast light on the matter. But this one I really don't buy.

"I know EA have a preference for the English league system, as evidenced by 4 Football League tiers compared to 3 in Germany and maximum 2 everywhere else."
Maybe I need to brush up on European football a bit more, but I thought it was because, in most European countries, outside the top two (3 in Germany) divisions, the clubs are mostly part-time, whereas in England, we have 4 divisions of professional teams - in fact, the Conference is increasingly littered with fully professional clubs.
Also, it might be linked to what is defined as a 'national divisional' organisation. In England, there have been 92 clubs in 'the league' (as in: the Football League) for the best part of 100 years, and since the 1950s they are four nationally-organised divisions. Not sure this is the case elsewhere...
Taking Italy as an example; beyond Serie B, I understand Serie C is three regional divisions...in Germany, after the 'national' third division it becomes regional.
So I'm not sure it is 'a preference' on the part of EA but more to do with organisational structure and the professional/non-professional status of most of the clubs. - JustinCase01104 months agoSeasoned Ace
@CO88LER5 maybe you're right. But still, the Premier League has also been first in line when it comes to player likenesses and the introduction of real stadiums etc. Real managers too. Serie A clubs are far behind, also due to licensing matters. France had a few teams scanned for this game, but are also far behind, whilst Germany and Spain have had both players and stadiums made in recent years. But still, far later than the English clubs that started this process much earlier.
I'm not saying this is wrong. It's okay for the English clubs to be first in line, as it's one of the most popular leagues around. I just don't believe that a 3rd round FA Cup draw will have anything to do with the introduction of the promised Live Start Points. I could be wrong though...

In club football, it is by far the most popular and appealing country worldwide. So any football game that takes itself seriously will go 'England first'. I see people here in Poland, who don't care much for their own league but are massive fans of clubs based in either England or Germany. And Barcelona, as Lewandowski scores his goals there, now...
I think the mass appeal of English football has come at a price and the best word to cover the load is authenticity. That (together with charm) has gone lost in the 21st century: they are not your traditional English football clubs anymore, rather a franchise with a dozen little corporations with football as a product. You see it in other countries too, but on a smaller scale; definitely not across an entire league.
And I think that's where my slight antipathy against English football comes from: in the 21st century European football has become the toy of an elite few, predominantly England (plus a handful of clubs such as Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, PSG and the odd Italian team). Big teams from more modest countries cannot get a foot in the door anymore: bigger clubs from Holland, Belgium, Portugal, Scotland, Türkiye, Austria, Denmark, Czechia, Croatia etc. I think it's the primary task of UEFA to guarantee somewhat of a level playing field between countries and their leagues and they've been very poor at it in the 21st century and that's mostly because of the strong lobby from corporate football as I started to call it.

I kinda agree, it's just the more popular theory running around out there suggesting they wanted certain comps up to date. Whilst I would've liked it from the start and live starts update weekly my guess is transfer window

Transfer window is truly a qualified guess. That would actually make sense. But yeah, it could be great, if they'd made all the ground work beforehand, so one could get a live start point soon after a manager being sacked or other happenings that could generate a live start point. We'll see how it goes.

I agree with your sentiments.
I think it is to the detriment of football that 'corporate' (and now 'state', as in City, Newcastle, PSG and the like) ownership has become so dominant.
In England, I really do think Leicester City are the very last of the 'smaller clubs' to ever win the league - including the future, that is. That can't be right.
There is no real skills challenge anymore; it really is down to who has the biggest money pot.
With regard to the European Cup, Its past history was of a range of clubs from different countries winning it. That will NEVER be the case again, from the looks of it.
That's why I look at other clubs in this game; because I want to fantasise about taking things back to how they were. - Danimal59814 months agoSeasoned Ace

Are we talking big international teams from the past, like Hamburg, Reims, Steaua, Malmö, or rather fallen giants on a national level such as Kaiserslautern, Anderlecht, or Deportivo La Coruña?
- 4 months ago@Danimal5981
Past winners like those you name, and Celtic, and so on, stand no chance of winning in the future. It's now the preserve of the mega-clubs.
The last 20 winners have been from a small number of those big clubs. - 4 months ago@JustinCase0110
I suspect we might not see this feature at all. I imagine it's quite a big undertaking to gather all that data together and shoehorn it into the game in a way that makes sense. We're talking not only about league positions, but all of the match results, scorers, and the like. At the very least, gioven their track record, I expect it to be full of bugs - maybe I'm just being pessimistic 🙂 .
We are talking about a lot of information. I'd love to know what their plans actually are, and their process for doing it. - JustinCase01104 months agoSeasoned Ace

However, it would surprise me a great deal, if they didn't add it at all during FC25. Whilst I understand the delay, I can't accept announcing such a feature and not implementing it in the game at all. Now would be a great time to start, but at the very latest in February with all January transfers completed.

Dunno if the update did something, but I'm a tad annoyed, it's a minor thing, bytbyts one of those minor things that bugs us all I think. Scouted a player was happy he'd do the job for now. When scouting players if they don't have. S face I remove them from the report without even looking it bugs me that blank face thing never used to but does now, well the guy I signed when I scouted and looked at him yesterday he was fine, now on my save he's arrived at club and has no face. What's up with that 😂 I'm fumming, I've signed a face less player that did have a face. Weird game
Also on a different note I've decided that live starts waiting for fa cup can't work because there is a possibility of a few teams making it to the 3rd round that won't even be in the game. Dunno why I didn't think of that before when kept seeing the reports, wasn't until I saw a bunch of 1st round games other day and the number of non league teams into 2nd round I twigged

A recent Windows Update has created huge input lag to the point I cannot normally play a game.
Anybody has the same issue? A solution perhaps?

Sounds horrible mate. I'm on PS5 though, so I wouldn't know about any windows update. I hope it's sorted soon.

Seems under control now. Disabling some memory-sucking services within the system config and it's okay for the time being.

New? Whatta you mean new? It's literally a return to the old pre-1991 logo. I think it's overhyped. I mean, it's a nice gesture, because there was a huge demand for it among Ajax-fans. If it symbolizes anything, it's that the club is listening to the fans a bit more again.
I'll tell you what I would appreciate more: go back to the pre-war outfit, which is the same as now, except that Ajax would play with black socks not white. Because then (and only then) would Ajax go back to its original Amsterdam roots. And not a lot of teams wear all black socks nowaydays, so it would make them stand out.
Amsterdam city colours (flag and crest) are a red flag (or crest), with three white St. Andrew-crosses sorted vertically on a black vertical banner in the middle. Sometimes, when we play NAC Breda we play in that exact outfit and -to me- it's gorgeous and the way it always ought to be.
Originally, in the first 18 years of its existence, it played in an outfit similar to Sparta Rotterdam, PSV, Cracovia, Sunderland, or Athletic Bilbao: White shirt with red vertical stripes, black shorts and socks. But just a reintroduction of the black colour in whichever form would do for me.

Yes, I meant the new old logo. But I appreciate the thorough elaboration on the colours etc., I wasn't aware of the black and the stripes etc.
I get what you mean with black though. There's something about that. Man Uniteds kit is typically red shirt, white shorts, black socks, as anyone knows. But when opponents wear white shorts, United typically use black shorts in stead to the red shirt. In my opinion that's an improvement, when they do that.

In Formula One, Ferrari mixes the livery red with white for a number of years and then a couple of years with black, which make the cars look mighty dangerous IMHO.
I think the reason Ajax never went back to black after WW2, is that in the 20th century you had the so-called Legendary Four: Ajax, PSV, Feyenoord and Sparta which had never played outside the Ereidivisie since the introduction of professional footbal in the Netherlands; those four had never relegated (until 2002) - out of those four, Ajax was the only one which did not have a red-white-black combination outfit.

Apparently I have "reached the limit on images" and cannot upload any more images, before I've deleted some. Has anyone heard about a limit on number of uploaded images?
Edit: Now I've deleted a number of images from some of my earlier careers, but it hasn't enabled me to upload new images here anyway. @Alastairhufc do you know anything? I can't post a screenshot, I'm afraid 😉

Can anyone help me with this? @EA?
When I try to add or insert an image, I get the following message:
"You have reached the limit on images. You must delete at least one image before you can upload any more."
Apparently I can still re-use some of my previously uploaded images, of which there are 500. But it seems that these previously uploaded ones - from previous Career Mode Stories - are blocking me from uploading any new ones. I've tried to delete some of the posts in previous CM stories, but it doesn't seem to remove the images from this "archive" and create more space for new images to be uploaded.
Can anyone tell me how to approach this now? Is there a way to delete these old photos from previous careers?
- Danimal59813 months agoSeasoned Ace
Can't you delete the previous uploads from older threads, creating space?
- JustinCase01103 months agoSeasoned Ace
@Danimal5981 wrote:Can't you delete the previous uploads from older threads, creating space?
I've deleted some images from the threads, but I'm not sure it's enough to create more space. Try pushing the "insert/edit image" button above. Then you can choose between "Add Image" or "From My Uploaded Images". Even if I delete images from previous threads, I believe the images are still in the "From My Uploaded Images" pile, apparently blocking the space for new uploads. I can't find a way to clean up in that one.
