I like the Frank hire. I think his time is almost up at Brentford, though I expected him to take a role at a bigger club. Going back to his old club is also a nice change and a path someone like Frank could take. I have never heard of 'Oscar-Gate" that is crazy, I might have to look more into that.
The results are trending up, though slow progress. Turn the draws into wins for the second half of the year and you can climb back into the top three race.

I agree. Thomas Frank has been rumoured to bigger clubs, but he used to live in Hvidovre, close to Brøndby, so I thought there might be some personal reasons for him moving back. Plus the urge to set things right after his untimely departure back in the day.
Yes, the "Oscar-gate" was crazy and something of a rollercoaster ride. So basically this new investor came in, almost out of nowhere and invested a lot of money in the club. Practically saved the club from bankruptcy too. Furthermore he even presented himself as a Brøndby-fan, doing his investments by heart and not entirely as a business opportunity. So what not to like?
But over time he took up various roles in the club, being a board member, chairman and other things. And he started pulling strings in terms of new signings etc. Brøndby made three of their greatest ever sales back in 2005 and 2006 with Daniel Agger, Thomas Kahlenberg and Johan Elmander. And suddenly they were all brought back between 2014-16, Kahlenberg a bit longer though. It was a romantic reunion more than a wise one with both Agger and Elmander heavily marred by recurring injuries at the time. It was clearly a fan who brought them back. And not a clever sporting director.
His involvement in Thomas Frank's departure (Oscar-gate) was crazy, but perhaps necessary to realize that the club needed to remove him from his involvement in important decisions. So former player and sporting director of both FC København and FC Nordsjælland, CV Jensen, took over these responsibilities in 2019 and has taken a more sustainable approach. Jan Bech also sold 45% of the stocks in the club in 2022, so he's only a minor shareholder now.
