I just did something similar. I compiled a list of players that made it to Ajax senior youth team (u18) but never broke through at Ajax, yet are still in FC 25...: ended up with 72 players. Some became world class players some real unknowns, some hidden diamonds... useful for future transfers - 'returning home', that idea...

There was actually a tragic case with Vilfort at this tournament. He travelled home at some point, missing one or two games, because his daughter was hospitalized with cancer. But he returned to Sweden to play the final - and then he scored the 2-0 goal after - let's be honest - massive dominance by the brilliant German side. His daughter died a few weeks later...
There's a Danish movie about this, "Summer of 92". It's actually quite good, especially for us nostalgic Denmark "roligans"... - Danimal59812 years agoSeasoned Ace
The story about Vilfort's child was known to me.
My father won the betting pool that year at his job, being the only one to bet on a Danish tournament win.
Ca. 120 people each chipping in f 10,- each (that's Netherlandic guilders, there were no Euros yet), so he won 1200 guilders (around 500 euros nowadays), because the Danish football team decided to show up in Sweden.

Wow, huge respect to your old man! Too bad he "only" made the bet at his job. I reckon he could have won even bigger, if he'd made that bet elsewhere. Don't say he bet on Greece in 2004 too, then I might think he is that guy from Back to the Future. Biff Tannen, or whatever his name was, haha...

Uuu, this is personal: not just a stain Brøndby as a club would like to erase, but the manager himself as well. Still, a point at Toumbia would already be great, I'd say...

Yes indeed. I remembered the defeat very well and wanted to use it whilst preparing for the fixture. But it was only then I even considered that Thomas Frank was also the manager back then. A draw would have been okay, but with 4 draws already, losing two wins in the dying minutes recently, I really wanted a win in this game. Especially with the previous disappointment at Toumba. So I was pretty happy about this result.

I can see why the fans would be a little annoyed despite the good position. Too many draws at home could be the difference maker come the end of the season. Great away from tho and keeping it up thrashing Randers. Still exceptionally close within the top 4 so anything can happen.
Looking good in Europe too, must be feeling fairly confident with current points total

Crazy the difference a few games can make within the top 4. Brønby leading the way whilst Købehavn and Nordsjælland fall off the pace. Some of those big away wins recently giving you the superior goal difference to be on top.

Yes indeed, European form has been great, and I could make top 8 with a good result at home vs Ajax. Going through the league phase undefeated would be a crazy accomplishment.
But you're right, too many draws at home, but at least still undefeated at "Vilfort Park", as nicknamed by the fans.
Funny you mention Randers there. They've literally been the difference makers losing 4-0 to Brøndby, then beating FC København 1-0. I play FC København myself in the first game of the "Championship Round". If I break my curse and beat them, that will be their 3rd consecutive defeat, and then it would almost seem impossible for them to retain the title.
EDIT: Sorry, got ahead of myself there. I meant it was in match 19, the first game after the winter break. The Championship Round doesn't start until after match 22, of course.
