Probable Player Transfer Bug

In one of my manager careers, I had sold and transferred in a player right before the season had came to an end. It even showed me the cut scenes to confirm. However when the new season started, the player who i sold is still in my roster (it says in his status “Player will leave when the transfer window opens” but the window is already open) and the player who I supposedly transferred in (and was already one of my available players) was removed and in the shortlist it said that he negotiated with someone else and was unavailable now. Is there anything I can do to fix this issue? Or would I have to start a whole new career?
