Re: Unable to Sprint in Career Mode Matches

thanks for all your reports! This is a pretty weird issue and our team is investigating.

We could use your help in collecting some more info, trying to get to the bottom of this. Could you please let us know what controller layout are you using? (For example, Classic, Alternate etc.)

It would also be helpful to get a short video clip of it happening with the gamepad overlay turned on.

I played in career mode tonight with my brother and friend and experienced this bug in it's entirety. It is one of the most frustrating bugs I've experienced in all my years playing games because sprinting is such a fundamental aspect of the game.

To answer your question, Vendcera, all three of us were using the Classic controller layout with no adjustments, on an Xbox Series S.

Something we noticed is the bug appeared to happen when created players (both ones created by us and the ones created by the game when a career mode is started) are being used. When only real players were used, we didn't experience any inability to sprint, from what we could tell.

Unfortunately we don't have a video clip to provide at this time.

I have the same issue for a week now. Had bugs with created players too.

Using classic Controller(XBOX) playing on PC.

But this bug ist always there as soon as i start a new career. When i load the old saves before this bug appeared, the players do sprint, its like from the moment a created player has been used in career after a certain update or smth was given, it just crashed all upcoming new careers (with or without created players) Please fix this right now. or i want my money back. Because its unplayable like this.

i deleted all profiles or updates and reinstalled everything and yet the bug is there (but only in career mode)!

Same issue for me. There's a 2-5 second delay when pressing sprint (R2). Game is currently unplayable. 

Console: Xbox Series X
Gamemode: Career (kick off seems to work ok)
Controller setup: Classic
Sliders: Tried everything, all broken

Yeah same issue for me. 
Kick off my players are spriting but on career they are jogging, I can't even accelerate with them either.

I have the same issue using 'Alternate' layout on PS5. I've started a new career and now it happens- no sprint response at all to R2.

If I go back to my previous saved career that I started shortly after buying the game on release, sprint still functions normally. 

Career mode is still UNPLAYABLE. So bad, feel like i've been cheated. What a waste of money.

Is this posted after trying the most recent Title Update 4? I read the patch notes and they said they’ve made some changes to sprint animations or something? 

So so frustrating I’ve been trying to play career mode since the Founders edition launch day and still have found it completely unplayable 😔 Was really hoping I could get back today and the update would’ve fixed this. absolutely shocking

Seems like it's still not working after most recent patch, at least for me. Sigh. 

The only solution that worked for me is not only uninstalling the game but deleting all the data so effectively you should be starting the game as a brand new game 

annoying as I lost my career data but it’s only solution at the moment

I have the same issue also, I thought it’s from the setting of the gameplay 

it’s sprint when I have the ball sometimes 

but if I chase the CPU players, the player doesn’t sprint at all 

Go to customise - settings - simulation settings - gameplay type to classic 

Hey guys, I managed to get a clip this morning highlighting every single issue that has been mentioned in this thread. For context, this is in a career mode match, custom settings with 50 set at every setting (most normal feeling sprint function we’re aware of so far).

I win the ball back and should have a clear run on goal - please watch Rashford and Garnacho. Both players have ACRES of space in front of them and no matter what tactics I have them on should be running into that space. Both players hesitate and run BACKWARDS 😭. Not to mention I was holding sprint whilst controlling Hojland and he clearly is just not responding properly.

Really hoping someone from EA sees this as this honestly is the definition of game breaking. This situation should never ever pan out the way it does.

This is ridiculous, I didn’t notice this thread, so I actually thought that my controller had broken…. I took my controller back to the shop and bought a new one because I thought this was the reason my players were not sprinting in my new career save, how stupid was I!? I should of remembered how useless EA are and checked here first ! What the hell I going on EA?

And what’s the point of Career Mode if the simulation itself is broken? Even when other features work fine, the flawed simulation system ruins the experience. For example, players’ performances often don’t match their stats, making the results feel completely unrealistic. On top of that, it’s nearly impossible to keep a player at their peak overall rating once they hit their maximum potential. They immediately start to regress, no matter how well they perform in matches, which feels unfair and overly restrictive.

As a result, building a strong team or developing players loses its purpose when progression is so short-lived and regression kicks in too fast. To make matters worse, simulated matches often have bizarre, unbalanced outcomes, where much weaker teams consistently beat stronger ones. These issues turn what should be an enjoyable experience into a frustrating grind, robbing Career Mode of its potential.

Afternoon guys, just to confirm that post Winter Update - where they’ve added a bunch of new content to career mode - that the issues mentioned since 12 weeks ago in this thread are still there, and still game breaking. Sorry to bring more bad news but this update has STILL not fixed the game breaking bugs that we are all experiencing.

Keep active and keep trying to get this message across because this can’t go on

Hello, i also cant sprint in ea 25... also cant change players when im defending... this game is broken.

Acceleration and running speed at simulation setting which is at 30 ish  is broken, because the jogging run is the same speed as the sprint so you won't see any difference, i recommend putting your settings at custom and put acceleration and top speed at 40 to 45 which ever you feel is better, and put the rest of the sliders the same as simulation. Again, running speed and acceleration at 30 to 35 is broken.

Edited : i did some test, and it is broken most of the time if you lower the speed in any way. leaving it at 50 seems to be better for now.
