THE GOOD, BAD & THE UGLY

It’s best to keep this brief otherwise we will be here for a while.

Let’s get into it.

THE GOOD 

• Visuals are improved, the kits look great in motion I have to say
• Player faces are getting better each year with a load of additions from all the leagues
• Like the above, we have many more managers with faces which is great 
• The sliders before you start are a welcome addition, and add variety when starting you’re career
• Attacking feels more fluid and more natural
• Ai have improved a lot and it’s much more of a challenge
• Youth academy is a positive, it needs a lot of work though
• Scouting has been made far easier with the sliders
• The slight rebrand in graphics and fonts are noticeable and better suited to the game
• UCL format is great and glad we have that at launch

THE BAD 

• PITCH WEAR… I mean come on it’s been 5 years now with this laziness. Remove it… pitches should not look like mud baths after 10 games.
• Sluggish, the menus are very clunky and non responsive
• Menu layout is honestly a mess, should really be more streamlined
• Lighting seems to be off with the sunlight, can’t put my finger on it bit the game just doesn’t look right
• Defending is rigid, the user Ai is woeful. Players stopping while changing who to control. There should be auto tackling at least… my defenders just run around and the ball is going through their legs or something, something is not right
• TRANSFERS ARE ONCE AGAIN BROKEN.. Gavi will not leave Barca to go to City for 50m, Militao would not go to spurs, Bowen would not leave West Ham to join Everton, Liverpool wouldn’t spend 140m on both Balde and Davies to play in he same position.. Many more but honestly feel like the user should have an option to confirm transfers. For example “should militao go to spurs” the answer should be no.
• The social media section is repetitive and annoying, this should only be used during transfer windows. I want to see the league results and table on the home page not have to scroll elsewhere to see it
• Realistic goal/nets, every stadium has the same net, however both Aston Villa and Leicester have deeper nets, whereas Fulham have a shallow net.. key details are important
• Commentary, not much you can do on this game but let’s just say the volume is on zero and will remain on zero… change them for next game I beg you
• Handballs, every shot I or the cpu take ends up in a handball in the penalty area. This needs adjustment or let the user almost be given VAR options to look and decide if it a pen or not. I’ve had blatant blocks with the arm that would be given and ricochet handballs that would never be given in the real world. Yes I know you can turn this off but if I’m denied a goal by a defender throwing an arm it annoys me.
• Shooting, now this maybe just because I’m rubbish but shooting feels off for me, every shot is straight at the keeper or no power and that’s both finesse and power shot.
• Camera angles, I’ve been playing around with them and they feel too close to the pitch this year, I play on broadcast as this is more like real life and it needs to be zoomed way further out I feel
• Random youth players, I’ve seen very good young regen players in the first season. These players are 17/18 and are rated low 80s with some unreal stats… maybe an issue with having the sliders on fast for youth potential?

THE UGLY

• The immersion just isn’t there, the pitch wear is a huge issue and I don’t want to play the games beyond match week 10 right now
• Lack of real understanding of what’s actually important on the menus. Where’s the excitement for the title race, to 4 battle and relegation fight. Literally don’t see any of this unless I want to see the table. There should be updates on results on that home page. If I’m Arsenal I want to see how city are getting on or Liverpool. Having to manually check their results and table elsewhere isn’t ideal.
• Sluggish gameplay, everything just feels slow. I play on 72 sprint speed and acceleration and the players turn like Sergio bisques with a wheelbarrow on his head. It’s terrible.
• Rigidity, I  feel this year the movement feels very wooden, like the last point I struggle to turn its either run left, right, up or down.

Career mode needs to be worked on, not forgotten about. It’s important to take care on the mode that put this game on the map on the first place.

I want to continue to play the game, so please prioritise the pitch wear issues it’s by far the biggest issue for me.
