When controlling a striker, AI teammates (especially wingers and midfielders) frequently make blind runs into the dribbler's path, disrupting shot opportunities. There should be a tactical or AI behavior setting to avoid such interference.
Would like to see improvements in the player career mode.
I've experienced this, my own players running to me right as I'm about to shoot or pass, knocking the ball away or the player over. It's madness that the AI clearly knows where you are but just chooses to destroy the opportunity.
EA has not clarified the specifications for the behavior of the AI (allies), but I asked a question on ChatGPT and got the following answer.
“The AI of the allies is just running in because there is space there,
Doesn't it recognize that it is the ally who is dribbling and that running into it is interfering with the ally?”
You can do a few things like set your tactics and make directional runs with lb and right stick. You can also call the player back with rb. Thats all for the regular game. Not sure if those work in player career.
When I dribble toward the goal, a teammate interrupts my path and interferes with my dribble.
Sometimes they stop in front of where I am dribbling and demand a pass. Sometimes the ball is sent flying in the other direction in doing so.
When I run in front of the goal and look for a chance to shoot, a teammate will come in between me and the goalkeeper to block the course of my shot.
It is as if the teammate behaves like an enemy defender.
The AI is not aware that it is destroying the scoring chances of its teammates.
It needs to be made to understand that this is an unrealistic behavior.
It is not in the team's best interest to destroy a teammate's chances.
