I've experienced this, my own players running to me right as I'm about to shoot or pass, knocking the ball away or the player over. It's madness that the AI clearly knows where you are but just chooses to destroy the opportunity.
EA has not clarified the specifications for the behavior of the AI (allies), but I asked a question on ChatGPT and got the following answer.
“The AI of the allies is just running in because there is space there,
Doesn't it recognize that it is the ally who is dribbling and that running into it is interfering with the ally?”
