Auto switching

I'm not one of these guys who call the game rigged, or scripted or anything like that, but this year it's becoming more hard not to. I'd like some input from other players because the auto switching is one of the worst features in the game for years, so naturally I have it on manual, but this year I'm manually tracking an lobbed through ball and the game just decides to switch me to another defender not even close to the ball and I concede, the setting is still manual switching, I've switched it on and off, it's a deal-breaker for me, I play the game fully, I'm not a guy who spends £60 to not actually play the game and just have the AI play while I control a CAM, so if I am getting switched left and right automatically I'm just  not going to play. Any ideas why I'm being auto switched with it turned off?
