Can Anyone Explain Why People Do This Nonsense?

I've seen this happen a lot. The match starts and the idiot I'm playing against will just stand there with the ball. Why do people do this? Why not just quit before the ball is kicked or ask for a mutual quit if they don't want to play? https://youtu.be/ln5Tnj4xZRc My opponent quit the match in the end, I didn't even attempt to take the ball off him, if my opponent couldn't be bothered to play then neither could I. He got a 3-0 loss out of it and I got a 3-0 win that I didn't earn.
