Career and manager mode objectives

Why does the game sometimes just not register games? Like I've played through 10 games straight in manager mode after it happened to me once and the second time I kept a physical tally after every game. Even after all that it just showed 6 games played. After that I've just been thinking if objectives are even worth it.
