Champions League 2024/25

New Forum New Season New Format

Mixed opinions I'm sure on the new Format, but it is what it is. I'm not the biggest fan, but still intrigued to how it fairs going forward. Do you think it will make it more competitive?

Currently second night of first round of matches. Am watching City Vs Inter Milan.

First night Bayern made a statement with a 9-2 win over Dinamo Zagreb. Milan had a dream start against Liverpool, but weren't much good afterwards with Liverpool winning 3-1 at The San Siro. Villa returned to Top European Competition with 3-0 over Young Boys. Elsewhere Real Madrid beat Stuttgart 3-1. Sporting beat Lille 2-0 and Juventus win 3-1 against PSV.

Who are your early favourites to win this year's Champions League

    Watching Monaco Vs Barcelona tonight

    Great start Barcelona down to 10 after referee initially shows wrong card, poor choice in passing from Ter Steven then a lovely goal from Akliouche to put Monaco ahead

    Weirdly I'm not hating it like I thought I would. We'll see how things go.

    Has anyone seen the Real Madrid vs Borussia Dortmund match yesterday?

    Dortmund had such a great 2-0 lead at half time but of course then bottled it and Vini Jr. run all over them! 😮

    Still haven't got round to watching highlights yet. Was sidetracked Tuesday as Leeds were playing in Championship so didn't watch any CL and was busy yesterday so couldn't

    I still don't like it tbh. 

    The only good news is that, potentially, we'll see some "big teams" kicked out ahead of the knockout stage. Like right now City and PSG are seriously looking at not making the cut, which would be an interesting change. 

    But still, it's too difficult to assess the real potential of each team because of the new format. Ofc, Liverpool looking strong, but there's still a long way to go!
