EAs Refund Policy is fully against customer

First of all, I am sorry if Im posting this in wrong topic.I wanted to bring up an issue I think is really unfair and frustrating for players: the current state of refund policies, especially when major patches ruin the gameplay experience.

When we buy a game, we’re paying for what’s been advertised—whether that’s in trailers, reviews, or descriptions. But what happens when a patch drops that fundamentally changes the gameplay or, worse, makes the game unplayable for PC players (thats the current state now) ? It feels like a bait-and-switch, and there’s no real protection for us as customers.

Few problem I noticed:

  1. Unplayable Patches: Some of these updates introduce major bugs or performance issues, and players are stuck dealing with a broken game. A lot of these problems go unaddressed for weeks (the issue regarding PC has over 1000 comments as for now, yet just two of these comments being from EA Team and not bringing anything new into the topic). Despite players repeatedly pointing them out, most of the EA team seems to ignore these issues altogether.
  2. No Refunds for Post-Launch Problems: Refund policies are tied to things like playtime or purchase windows,as for now its 24h after launching the game. But what about when a game works fine at launch, only to be ruined by a patch later? There’s no way to get a refund for something like that, and it’s just unfair.
  3. Moderation Dismissal: To make things worse, when players voice concerns in forums or on official channels, moderators often dismiss or ignore them. This gives the impression that the developers don’t care about fixing these problems, which is honestly disheartening. This also causes the lose of faith in the issue being solved any time soon. There is not a single post regarding the PC issue on EA Direct Communcation Twitter/X.

It’s incredibly frustrating to invest in a game, only to have it become unplayable due to poor updates, and then see these issues ignored for weeks. A fair solution would be to allow refunds if a major gameplay patch negatively impacts the experience, even if it’s outside the usual refund window.

At the end of the day, all we want is to play the game we paid for. Ignoring player feedback and leaving problems unresolved for weeks damages trust—not just in the developers but in the company as a whole. Treat it as criticism and I am looking forward to any response from the moderator team. Yes, I know about the feedback-website already, you do not have to post this link once again as an ,,answer''

  • @JackOliver2012 It looks like they are working on a fix. I think you have to be careful with refunds. If people don’t like the game they should be refunded but you can’t give refunds halfway through the game. They would stop patching the game if that happened.

Obviously, requesting a refund out of nowhere isn't reasonable, and I understand it could easily be abused. However, in situations like this—where the game gets completely unplayable (e.g., running at 10-15 FPS, which can be proven with video)—refunds should be considered eligible.

Another point to address: once a game is fully released, why are such drastic changes still being made? Players expect a full version from the very start, with only minor updates or fixes along the way. Instead, we're seeing significant game changes every two weeks, which makes it feel like we're still in a beta phase.

Remember when FIFA stopped releasing demos before launch, claiming it was to focus entirely on delivering a "complete game" at release? Despite that justification, the situation has only gotten worse. There’s a clear disconnect between their promises and the actual outcomes.

I wouldn’t be writing this post if the game still performed the way it did in September, when I could play on the highest graphics settings. Now, I have to lower the resolution just to access the menus. This feels like false advertising—especially since they continue to sell the game to PC players despite this insane problem.

Their policy has significant flaws, but as long as the money keeps flowing, I doubt we’ll ever see fair treatment from their side.

@JackOliver2012I have a 12 core CPU and a 2080Ti and somehow I need to have everything on low to run this game properly... somehow, FC is more demanding than COD lmao incredible.. and then people dare saying how much the game is better on PC... yeah maybe when you drop 5K on a brand new PC, wait in two years or so lol
