Ever since this major patch, the game feels so horrible. I have never seen this sort of arcade gameplay since fifa 09. This is so horrendous. EA should be ashamed of themselves and so are the toxic players who just want to satisfy their addiction of buying meta and abuse mechanics of gameplay. I really wish there is a competitor to EA for a football game with player base. This game will die like Nokia died after Apple.

Well, I wouldn’t call it a game as such, and it’s loosely based on football. It’s not a representation of football and its principles. They can’t even get most of the rules right. and they drop all sense of logic and science in it, making it not a representation of what football is and stand for. FC actually stands for “Fight Club” 25, although “Foul Fest” would be quite fitting as well. The foul system is horrendous. It’s more of a brawl or “bumper car” experience than football.
It’s a gamified store. Everything is centred around the store and pushing people into it. From your matches to SBCs etc, the content is way more reliant on the store than in years before.
And there are mechanics that make you wonder what is embedded into FC25 to maintain the balance. Beyond that, there are so many issues that they have been unable to fix, from server stability to laggy UI and menus, input delays or errors, a horrible UX and so on.
The best thing about that is, that when you do raise and flag it as an issue, that the.n the players are blamed to either have bad connections etc. which is so hilarious. “We don’t know what we’re doing and don’t know how to fix it, so just blame the players. Problem solved
Just been playing Rivals, as we are forced to play it to get some content, and it’s so laughable and unrealistic, why it often reminds of this piece of software feeling like a student project or a GameJam attempt, rather than being developed by educated professionals.
Andrewrg2You lead by 2 goals and suddenly they go into pause menu. This is when you know they are activating some hacks. Suddenly your whole players feel like they are Bronze. And they score one banger after the other from outside the box with trivela or finesse timed finish. And they get into decent position from one long no look through pass cause your AI has been downgraded by hacks. And then they taunt you with "Big earth Talk now or griddy" celebration.
You fight to come back by building up properly cause your players can't seem to run anymore. Just for them to score a banger straight afterwards, from another no look through pass at kickoff.
The gameplay is very bad. The system is far too p2w and the hackers gave it the final blow.
And to make it worse, these YouTubers and their followers were moaning that defending was overpowered and people need to learn to defend manually yet when the Refresh patch made it in to a pong pong, arcade s* fest a lot of the responses were that this is how it should be, you don't even have to think when passing, shooting or dribbling it should just work without effort - ironic and embarrassing comments.
As you said, only 1 or 2 games on the market who aim to replicate the beautiful game as a simulation so it's so frustrating to have to buy a game that was on the right track and then to endure this garbage because people want to abuse the gameplay.
I don't blame the community, however, to each their own but I would blame EA for mis-selling and false advertising - they are hiding from that like cowards after acknowledging my thread few weeks ago.
They have both gameplay mechanics now - pre and post Refresh patch so why not at least allow the option to revert to pre Refresh patch at least for offline modes so those that were enjoying the non-arcady gameplay can at least go back to enjoying that?

It’s likely a combination of feedback as a lot of threads on here are actually mad it’s not more ping pong and faster. Youtubers also share that sentiment but it’s probably also from numbers and money as that was all down before the patch.
But much like this thread it’s not enough and they are surprised a thread like this even exists where people prefer pre patch.

The patch saved this game, I love it. Reminds me of the older Fifas when the gameplay was still fun.
Obviously it’s still far from perfect and many things need to be tweaked, but it’s a step in the right direction.
I’ve played the FIFA series since 02 and FC25 was genuinely the worst game I have ever played, until the update.
I understand it’s not for everyone, but it baffles me how anyone can prefer the snoozefest of pre-patch gameplay, where passing was nonexistent and the AI was defending like prime Maldini.
Oh the irony in all of this. When you actually don't defend manually, your defenders do a decent job. The moment you select a defender, your whole backline is out of sync with massive gaps and they literally shoot through your defenders every time. Before scoring might have been too hard, now scoring is far too easy. A middle ground must be found. And most importantly hackers need to be taken care off. And it's not only PC players. My last matches before I quit, like 1/3 of the hackers were on console. One of them basically disconnected in Champions when I was leading and the game was counted as a "draw".
