Champs is harder to qualify this year compared to previous years and it's deliberate, to make it the best versus the best. I don't have a problem with that, Champs should be exactly that - Champs - and it's not something I aspire to try to be. From four attempts this season, I've qualified once (went 4-10 and gave the last game away). The pack rewards gave out fodder, so it doesn't feel like I'm missing out. That said, I can understand the OP's frustration, as he's unable to play a part of the game that he wants to and previously has been able to.
It is a stretch to say that "It’s probably best to give good players a mode to play in. That way you can play in all the less competitive modes and they won’t be there." We know that elite level players and pros are playing less competitive modes, such as Squad Battles, because that's the main reason EA reduced the number of games from 30-odd to 12 (and you yourself have stated that on numerous posts over the last two months). Essentially, top level players want any rewards going and they get them because they're very good, competitive gamers with plenty of time on their hands.
EA could overhaul rewards throughout the game, for example the best Squad Battle rewards could be the worst you can receive in, say Div 5 of Rivals, and the best Rivals rewards could be the worst you can receive at level 10 in Champs - that's not a perfect example but hopefully you get the idea 🙂
@Leelongy73 Pros are not playing squad battles maybe some of them. The point is they are not playing the online modes during wl. You can play rivals or friendlies or draft or rush while good players are in weekend league. It makes the rest of the game less competitive.
- @RadioShaqs There has been no issues in previous titles with different level of players in weekend league. EA have let the casual player down across the whole game mode this year and pandered to the pros and the top level players. They are asking players to play too many rivals games for crap rewards. They have cut the squad battle games (I personally don't mind this). And to ask the casual player to get 3 out of 5 wins in champs is ridiculous. I used to play champs every week in the past and get 10-13 wins a week, I barely win 1 game in qualifying now and already it's making me think what am I playing towards if there is no weekend league for me then why bother grinding out the other game modes. I can see me losing interest this year very quickly.
- @malso83 The whole game is catering to casuals besides wl. Wl was always a problem you had pros avoiding each other. They also used wl as a casual mode because it was so easy for them. The whole thing didn’t make sense.
Less games in squad battles and rivals helps casuals. Thankfully they lowered rivals for casuals.- @RadioShaqs They lowered it because people stopped playing it...and if anything, the lower wins help higher Div players more than div 7 casual players.
