So I'm torn, here. Part of me asks "What's wrong with playing a video game just to play?" But I recognize that the drive for "rewards" is what drives the microtransaction economy they've carefully developed. And those two systems can't coexist - if people just play to have fun, they won't spend.
I don't know the solution, but I do know that I haven't finished a season path yet in FC25 (and I've always finished them in the past), and I've found that I really don't care. Life has been perfectly fine as I play exactly how much I want. I have a job, I don't need another one hiding in my console.
EA is not going to change in the short run. They'll only change if people start spending their time elsewhere. Not worth the time? Do something that is.
