Player marking??

Can someone please tell me how I get my players to mark my opponents players?

Every player I have is on ++ play styles but every time my opponent attacks my players are standing there doing nothing and his players are wide open!

But every time I attack all my players are marked and I have no open players to pass to?

Can someone tell me how I get my defenders to closely mark my opponents players?

Also how do I get my attackers to move away from their markers to create passing opportunities?

Thanks

  • You need to switch between 2-3 defenders and intermittently use second man press.

To get around defenders you probably need to play faster. Since passing is so easy you need to send players on directed runs and then ping pong pass the ball back and forth. This is why people only need 4 attackers up front to abuse the pace counter attacks.

Anders is probably the best example if you ever watch his videos.

  • I'm having this issue alot too and it normally forces me to backtrack and turtle.

When I win the ball eventually my players are swamped instantly, but when my opponent wins the ball they have miles of space, how can you possibly do that sort of switching when I'm playing fast driven passes, like the press is instant, btw holding l2 to hold off opponents is a joke too, it's useless.

this gameplay is just terrible. the NPC's, even the ones next to the opponent moves like idiots

  • You can also go coop so you can see more of the field so you can swap sides. The only downside is it will be harder to do speed boosts and flip flaps.

The key to pressure is doing it before your opponent passes. An example would be pinch in with your mid cdm and striker by switching between them. Then intercept the pass by switching to your cb while second man pressing the passer.

Like I said Anders breaks this down in his videos if you want a more detailed explanation.  The trick is knowing when to switch to the cb to pull him out of position for the interception. You do this wrong and it’s going to be an easy goal. They will do a speed boost or flip flap and it’s off to a 1 on 1 with the goal keeper.

This is why you will often see him get beaten and drag out the keeper in a weird way to try to confuse the attacker into messing up the shot.

When it works it often times leads to a goal the other way. More times than not you can win the ball up high.

  • It’s the dog water gameplay & that’s a fact. Instead of concentrating on pitch shadows, player tattoos and the wind blowing players shirts. EA need to focus on the god **bleep** gameplay, what a set of incompetent fools

  • EA put in that 60% more stamina use when using press... when are they doing this? What a joke, in 9 out of 10 games every time I get the ball I am instantly chased by 3 players and they all move faster the flash, even with NO stamina.

RadioShaqs thanks for the tips but unfortunately I can't do the constant targetted switching between players or any of the press commands, so I am screwed from the start lol.

They really do need to fix gameplay though, it's pretty bad as it is.

I have same issues. The game is a complete mess and EA are ignoring the lot of us because they either don’t care or have no idea how to fix a game that has become a total joke!

I played on Legendary until this version and now can’t win a single game on world class because every game I played, no matter what the standard of the opposition they are faster, stronger and more skill full. They overwhelm my team and my players who are far better and supposedly better and faster can’t sprint, turn, dribble or pass!!
I have tried to contact EA on multiple occasions but they ignore my feedback and questions.

i uninstalled the game last week and threw the disc in the bin because I’ve had enough. I’ll. ever buy another EAFC again and I have played it since the very first version in the 90’s.

    you can get stuffed EA!

  • If you have a hard time pushing all the different buttons it’s going to be hard to defend. You basically have to be an octopus on the game to defend probably.  They need to buff defending to fix the gameplay. Sadly I think people like offense being easier.

Yeah they don't really make the game inclusive for us disabled players and surely I can't be the only disadvantaged person playing this game!

I think EA has lost the plot/aim of this game. It pointless having to control and shift players, yet the tactics you apply are just not implemented. EA can might as well leave it out completely, and demand players do everything manually.

I all honesty I'm struggling with this crap of EA, physicality means **bleep** because you always nudged off the ball, or the ball gets stolen from behind even when you trying to return a pass without having to turn...It's freaken ridiculous.
