Honestly, saying it works over VPN so the problem must be the user’s network or ISP doesn’t really make sense. To be clear, VPNs usually slow things down because they add extra steps, your data gets encrypted and sent through another server before reaching its destination, which adds delay. Overall, it feels like this issue is being overlooked without a proper investigation, which is exactly why people are frustrated.
You are misunderstanding what a VPN is all3l33 and what it does.
Using a VPN can result in some slow down and latency but that all depends on your VPN provider and in many cases the impact is minimal.
I've my VPN on and ran a speed test over wifi at the opposite side of my house from my router and getting 310.7 Mbps download speeds.
If you can play a game when a VPN is on but not when it is off then this means that your issue is related to your network or ISP as it means that when using another connection your game has no issues.

Using a VPN always adds some delay because your data has to take a longer path. It’s like taking a roundabout route instead of going straight no matter how fast your Wi-Fi or ISP is, the extra distance means more time on the road.
On top of that, VPN traffic often goes through additional servers that can be busy or overloaded, which adds even more lag. Plus, VPN provider’s infrastructure might not be as optimized as ISP’s direct connection, so overall speeds and response times tend to be worse with a VPN than without.
Because of this, usual ISP connection will almost always be faster and more direct than a VPN route.

Not going to reply further all3l33 as you are taking the original posters issue and trying to find some gotcha that does not exist.
The OP's issue is network or ISP based, there is nothing more to be said around it.
Using a VPN can help certain users who are having issues as it does the OP here and a good VPN does not mean a slower connection or longer time for response.

Just to clarify... my previous comment wasn’t a question, so there was no need for a reply in the first place. It was a general technical explanation on how VPN routing can impact performance. But if you want to be the last one to reply, so be it. :)
Btw, I get that tech stuff can be confusing, but it really seems like there’s a gap in understanding the technical details here. That makes the support less clear and not as helpful as it could be.
At the end of the day, most players already feel how rough the gameplay experience is and saying everything’s fine or treating in this case VPNs like a magic fix doesn’t really help anyone...

Just to add, getting 310 Mbps from the far side of the house with a single router probably isn’t happening on 5 GHz Wi-Fi, since those signals don’t usually travel that far or go through walls very well. At that distance, you’re most likely on 2.4 GHz, which usually can’t deliver speeds that high. So, technically, that part is a bit misleading and doesn’t really match...

Going to lock this as at this point it's just petty point scoring and attempts at gotchas from certain users and spreading of misinformation.
If you are serious about gaming online we'd recommend that you keep your network running as best it can.
