I seem to struggling to find how to change formations and to adjust then(using square on playstion) to positions I want them to be?

You can't move players freely anymore if that's what you are attempting to do.
You can, however, instruct them to an extent where to move in and out of possession.
Is this what you are after? It does take a little playing with you get used to the new way but it is good.
@blue166 I really can't believe they took this out. the second yearin a row where something was removed that no one asked to be removed.
