I 10000% agree with your post. The most worst version of the game ever. The most enjoyable part for like smaller clubs, tactics, is nothing as what it was before.
Before, a good tactics (for example 5-2-3) made the difference and you can choose more smallness in your team by defence and good depth from specific players. Now the game is totally randomized. How is it possible that flank attackers are staying in midfield, while midfielders are staying near the main striker?… And many, many, more!
It’s complete chaos, and it only left spaces for the opponent. If it is like this, for me the FIFA/EA FC-time is over. This is a game for children from 10-12 years!

And the AI... it's impossible to attack.
