I keep getting a black screen when trying to play rivals or more annoyingly champs. 5 times I have now tried qualifying for champs and at least 2 times a run I get a black screen when starting the match. I hear the commentary at the start and the introduction of my players but I can't see anything and the match doesn't start. This leads me to having to close the game resulting in a loss. Can I get a resolution on this as its just not acceptable that every time I try to qualify for champs I am dealt with 2 loses. It is so frustrating. This happens in rivals also and it always seems to be when I get a streak or closing in on a promotion. Leading to a loss and a position lost on the progression. My Internet is good and I'm on a gaming dns.

SAME PROBLEM ON PS5 DID AL THESE STEPS NOTHING WORKED , STILL GETTING BLACK SCREEN AND THEN DNF AFTER LAUNCHING INTO A RIVALS OR CHAMPS GAME . ITS EITHER BLACK SCREEN AND THEN BACK TO LOBBY WITH LOST CONNECTION TO YOUR OPPONENT OR FREEZING AFTER GETTING INTO A GAME WHEN THE VIDEO IS LOADING OF THE STADUIM AND THEN IT PROCEEDS THE VIDEO AND KICKS ME OUT WITH THE SAME MESSAGE. NO FIX FOUND YET ALL THESE STEPS AINT WORKING .

Hi I have followed all your steps and I still get the black screen this has been happenening from 3 weeks.

Im on nvidia 4060 gpu amd ryzen 7 cpu... playin always with graphic card, getin black screens after halftime and cannot continue the game, also after matches many times when game is loadin to menu. Im pretty sure is some bug in the game, my drivers are up to date... playin only offline career mode and kick off

Hello, i have the same problem on PC. I either have a blackscreen at the start of the game or i cant continue the game at half time or i get a blackscreen at the end of the game. i only play career mode, so it shouldnt be a network issue. drivers are up to date. i attached my dxdiag as well

In that case please try the following steps:

1) Restart your router.
Try to power down your router for 10 seconds and then power it back on.

2) Restore Licenses.
In the main menu of your PlayStation, go to Settings > Account Management > Restore License.

3) Clear cache.
1. Turn off your console (not rest mode).
2. Wait until the power light on the front of the console stops blinking.
3. Unplug the power cable from the console.
4. Press and hold the power button several times to remove any excess power.
5. Turn on your console again.

4) Change DNS.
Go to the internet settings -> network -> set up internet connection -> Wifi/LAN (depending which you are using) -> Select custom -> choose your network (wifi) -> Leave IP Address Settings as automatic -> DHCP leave as do not specify -> DNS Settings choose manual -> and fill in primary 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 as secondary -> MTU leave as automatic -> Proxy Server leave as do not use -> Test connection.

5.) Disconnect any other devices from your console.

6.) Disable HDCP on the console settings.

I havnt had the Black screen since I changed these things, I already had the dns as the game was unplayable before it.
Option 6 I used,
I turned of cross pland
And when a match is loading I won't skip the starting commentary until I can see the other user has done so.
Some times I will get a disconnection but it doesn't count as a game or negatively effect my progress. I am yet to get the black screen since
