FC 25 Unfair trading ban

I have read there has been a wave of unfair bans and wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this from EA…

2 weeks ago I was suddenly banned from the transfer market in FC25 while playing in Ultimate team.

I haven’t played the game for around 2 months then came back to it and to my surprise a few of the players I had bought earlier in the season had gone considerably up in value so I made a few trades. I always use FUTBIN as a reference for values and have done for the last few years so traded a few of the players in that had increased.

I suddenly All received email that said that I was banned from the trading for the following:

We noticed that your EA SPORTS FC™ Account has been involved with Coin distribution, which breaks our rules.

YOUR ACCOUNT HAS BEEN BANNED FROM THE FOOTBALL ULTIMATE TEAM™ TRANSFER MARKETHERE'S WHY:You can earn EA SPORTS FC™ Coins by playing Football Ultimate Team™ and by trading within the Transfer Market, but you can't purchase Coins or have Coins transferred between accounts. Buying or selling Coins through a third-party is against our rules. This means that you or your account is suspected of participating in the purchase of a Football Ultimate Team™ item for the purpose of transferring Coins or Football Ultimate Team™ items from one account to another.

Giving away Coins is also against the rules, for example, in exchange for promises, favors, or for other purposes outside of the game which is considered to be Coin trading. If you participate in a giveaway, you may be putting your account at risk by exposing your account to stolen or illegitimately generated Coins.YOUR ACCOUNT WILL NOT BE ABLE TO USE THE TRANSFER MARKET ON ANY PLATFORM FOR THE CURRENT EA SPORTS FC™ TITLE.

I replied to say I had done nothing wrong, I have never distributed coins and would no idea how to do this… I then get the following…

We have confirmed that your account was involved in Ultimate Team™ Coin distribution. Coin distribution is against our rules. Because of this, we will not remove the restrictions on your EA SPORTS FC™ Account.

You break our rules if you:
• Engage in coin distribution
• Buy Coins
• Sell Coins

I have never done any of the above so I don’t understand how they can say this has been fully investigated and will not give me an explanation?

For a game we all pay a lot of money for to be suddenly banned is completely unacceptable. I rarely buy packs but I do occasionally. My whole team is worth less than 700,000 coins which is less than the value of 1 player in most the teams I compete against.

Could someone please help me to get this ban lifted as it’s annoying and unfair…

Many thanks

  • The only way to get the ban overturned is contact the terms of service team. Which it sounds like you have. I believe you get 3 appeals so you can try again. Eventually the ban will either be overturned or stand.

    Thanks.

Understood, but the fact they have come back saying they have investigated and the ban still stands makes zero sense. I genuinely don’t know how to transfer coins and have no interest in this.
I don’t think someone is doing their job investigating properly… I wonder how much actual investigation goes into it as I would really like to understand how trading a few low value players can justify getting banned? At least an explanation as to why so that if I have technically breached any rules so I wont do it again.

Is there anyone from EA that can contact me regarding this?

The only thing I can think is that there are some players out there that must be reporting other players (I expect when beaten in a UT match) telling EA the persons username and saying they are aware this account is cheating. Which is certainly not the case. Then EA are not investigating. Maybe there are a number of people doing this as other searches I can find lots of people complaining of the same issue.. on steam community there’s a lot recently. I’ve been playing the game since FIFA 2002 and never cheated.

  • Only you and ea would know. Obviously a lot of people cheat but very few are going to admit it. There are also some that get banned by mistake as there has been some unbanned.

  • What players did you sell and for how much did you buy them for and how much did you sell them for?   Thanks.

The only one I can think worth mentioning was Dembele trailblazers2, think I bought him for about 90k a couple of months back then sold him for around 160k, so we’re not talking huge margins. I then regretted selling him so bought him back for about 140k then sold him again a couple of days later for 160k. That’s about it in terms of bigger transfers. All the others were base Cantona, Salah TOTW for about 50k, gold Haaland and a load of gold tradable that I packed. This is why I don’t understand. I’ve done far more trades in past FIFA’s and never been banned.

The ban has now been overturned with no explanation other than after further investigation we have removed the ban. Only took 3 weeks but glad it’s been lifted. There is hope!
