Game won’t launch on EA App: black screen after splash screen and crash
Hi friends, I really need your help because I’m losing my mind here. I’ve played EA games my whole life, and it’s the only game I play. For about three weeks now, I haven’t been able to launch the game. I bought the game during the pre-order period, and everything was fine until three weeks ago when I stopped being able to play. I bought the Ultimate Edition directly through the EA App. When I try to launch it, the splash screen appears, it loads, then a black screen shows up for about 3 seconds before it crashes and reopens the EA App. This keeps happening in a loop.
I’ve tried everything I could think of, and I’ll list everything I’ve done at the end of the message.
Interestingly, my friend logged in STEAM and ran the game from there (he bought it on STEAM, and it works perfectly). However, when I log in to my EA account and try to play through the EA App, it doesn’t work.
Here’s my hardware:
- Ryzen 5 3600
- Radeon RX 580
- B450M motherboard
- 32 GB RAM
- NVMe SSD
- Windows 11
- Wired internet connection
Here’s what I’ve already tried:
- Repaired the game files through the EA App.
- Reinstalled the game (many times) on different drives/folders/locations.
- Ran the game as administrator.
- Tried compatibility mode (Windows 8 and others) and disabled fullscreen optimizations.
- Added the game as a firewall exception and even disabled the firewall completely.
- Disabled Windows Defender Antivirus.
- Updated my BIOS.
- Updated my GPU drivers.
- Updated Windows.
- Completely formatted my PC.
- Did a clean boot to run only EA-related processes.
- Deleted data from %LocalAppData%.
- Cleared the EA App cache.
- Reinstalled the EA App.
- Tried running the game offline.
- Tried launching the game without an internet connection.
- Contacted EA Support, but it was incredibly frustrating—they didn’t read what I had already done and just repeated the same steps I had already tried.
- I downloaded other games via EA App (e.g., Star Wars), and they work perfectly.

It’s so frustrating that it works through STEAM with my friend’s account, but not through the EA App, where I purchased it! I’ve spent hours every day trying to fix this, but nothing works. Please, if anyone has any ideas, help me out. Thank you so much!
