I have the same issue and believe it is a common thing. I have not seen anyone from EA address anyone yet about it and I believe if/when they do, they will try to blame hardware. This is clearly a bug in the game and I don't think they are going to look to update or fix it now.
I do wonder what would happen if someone challenged EA in regard to making products that do not function correctly. I wonder if they would find themselves liable in relation to the consumer rights and protection acts in the UK.
