No vibrations on Xbox controller

I cannot get any haptics/vibrations to work when playing EA FC 25 on my Xbox Series X. 

It is a brand new console. The controller is also brand new. I have also tried on a spare controller I have. The controller and console have been updated with the latest software, the game is also up to date. The vibration setting has been switched on for the controller in the Xbox menu, I can’t see an in game option to turn vibrations on/off. 

When I test vibrations outside of the game in the Xbox menu the controller vibrates, so the issue is seemingly with the game.

Anything I can do to fix this? The game is kind of unplayable without it as you lose all depth.
