Online friendly mode request accepter bad ping

Yea exactly! I'm playing someone from USA from Poland. Is this behaviour expected? Especially when the person sending the request has no issues (good ping), but the person accepting the request will always have either yellow or red ping. Is there a way to mitigate this?
