Please Help – FC25 Keeps Crashing and I Keep Losing Matches
Hello,
I've been playing EA SPORTS FC 25 without any major issues until recently. However, I've recently started encountering frequent crashes that are seriously affecting my gameplay experience.
Specifically, the game runs fine for the first couple of matches, but by the third match or so, it suddenly freezes and crashes with a "DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG" error. The error message states that the GPU is no longer responding to commands. I’m currently using an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 with driver version 576.28. At first, I thought this might be a problem with the latest driver, so I rolled back to a previous stable version that had worked well before. Unfortunately, the issue still persists regardless of the driver version.
What makes it even more frustrating is that the crash doesn't just interrupt the game — it actually results in a loss, even when the match was going well. It’s extremely disappointing to see a well-played game end in an undeserved defeat because of a technical issue.
I’ve tried various troubleshooting steps. I’ve reverted to older GPU drivers, changed the power management setting in the NVIDIA Control Panel to “Prefer maximum performance,” lowered the in-game graphics settings, and adjusted options like V-Sync and DLSS. I also tried running the game in DirectX 11 mode, switched Windows to high-performance mode, and even verified the game files. None of these solutions have resolved the issue. I’ve never overclocked my GPU, and the system has been running on default settings since purchase.
Given how sudden and consistent this issue has become, I’m wondering if there’s a compatibility issue between certain driver versions and FC25. I would appreciate it if the EA team could look into whether this error is a known issue, and if so, whether a fix is on the way. I’d also really appreciate hearing from other users who may be experiencing the same problem or have found a solution.
Thanks for reading.
