Same problem as everyone else for the last two editions of eafc so following this thread closely.
Today for the first time this issue was happening in fut champs. At first I just thought it was fussy players backing out for home/ away reasons but the error message always came around the 12 to 14 second mark on the counter and went on for at least one hour.
Very frustrating. Cant play rivals or champs now. Awful experience

Not really sure if you guys are going to bother about this error at all.
I have this same issue as well on my PS4. Cannot play Rivals or Champs since "it says Opponent has left the match" at the 13-14 sec countdown mark.
