Squad battles AI overpowered since update

Squad battles is supposed to be a fairly casual and fun mode, but since the update the AI has become even more aggressive and overpowered. The AI constantly slide tackles (especially if using technical driving or skill moves), relentless tiki taka with crazy passes, etc etc. it is significantly noticeable since the recent update.

I’ve gone from an average of 2-2500 points game on legendary, to just getting a win on world class (1700-2000 points). The mode has gone from an easy time filler, to not enjoyable at all.

Please dial down the AI!

Padge7887 you win, I don't work in technology!

Look I will just reiterate that I am not here to discount or invalidate anything that you all are saying. I do experience a majority of what you all speak of, I just don't know that dialing down the ai or cpu is the only solution. Better would be your inputs working, your players playing according to their attributes, refereeing logic improving, and your gk actually fighting for the cause rather than against it. I never have been nor will I ever be the type to dismiss an issue because I am not personally affected. I am only here to help, and look for solutions as well, I mean no harm. All the best to you!

I’ve noticed that the AI seems to be trained primarily on data from highly competitive ("sweaty") or easily frustrated players. Without going into a rant, I’d suggest exploring clustering-based algorithms to identify and exclude certain player behaviors from the training dataset.

If the current AI model follows traditional training methods, it’s likely reflecting the average player base experience—including human psychology quirks. For some reason (possibly due to a younger audience), many players tend to act out, quit, or play hyper-aggressively. Since the AI learns from the most abundant data, it may inadvertently adopt these tendencies.

By filtering out extreme or unconstructive playstyles, the AI could become far more enjoyable to play against. I believe there’s already enough data from fair, creative players to train a more balanced and engaging AI.

Would love to hear others’ thoughts on this!

  • I managed to get to 29.5k points this week but it was an absolute punish. Was not fun at all, by no way would it contribute to learning or improving. Most of the games, even when winning substantially, were like the screenshot. 64% possession to the AI. Relentless tiki taka, and the AI responding to your inputs before the animation has even started.

    Congratulations rashy_86!

That's a very good point total, I only managed 25.6k due to 2 disconnections this week. Hope you hit the lottery in your reward packs! All the best to you!

Just had a 4-3 win v a 78 rated team on World Class. The balance is just wrong.

Squad Battles gameplay is currently just made up of every conceivable way to cheat  you.

  • Bro I used to play semi prof to train my skills and used to win 20-0 and **bleep**... now i have to be lucky to score 5. The AI positioning is like a cheater. Als they do skill moves ON SEMI-PROF en fake throw ins. Just insane how EA **bleep**s up this game

Yep, 100%. I used it for the same thing, knowing I would get an OK reward at the end of the week. Not worth it anymore

  • Love how much you care about your community EA… introducing the evolution based icons have ruined it even more. Just like how maradonna and Zidane ruined it. 94 rated cards acting like fully upgraded versions, and the entire team becoming unstoppable. Gold rated cards playing with them acting like crazy evo chains. Great work on ruining this “beginner” mode
