Trying to play rush on pc but it won't let me control my player

When I load into rush, it allows me to select my player with my controller and ready up via controller, but when I get into the game my player is unable to move and the only way they can is if I use my keyboard+mouse. It then kicks me out of the game due to inactivity. Pls help
