Can't control players on FC25 rivals

Is anyone else having their players either stand there with the ball or run away to the other side of the field uncontrollably when playing rivals? I literally can't play rivals because my players will not move or do what I want them to do. I thought I didn't have the right settings so I went through and adjusted them so that it should run smoothly but it's still not working. Rush and squad battles seem to work fine with the occasional glitch. I'm on PC and use a controller, could it be that that's causing it? PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

    I FOUND THE SOLUTION!!

    1. Open the EA App and log in. 2. Click on the menu icon (three horizontal lines) in the top-left corner. 3 . Select "Application Settings." Go to the "In-Game Overlay" section. 5. Toggle off the "Enable In-Game Overlay" option. 6. Restart the EA App and launch the game.

I just capped my fps to 30 and tried 60Hz as a refresh rate and its working for me. Sometimes the problem returns briefly and goes away

    Additional steps you can try:

    • Create a new squad with different players, skills and formations and test it again.
    • Delete potentially corrupted files in EA SPORTS FC

  • Happens to me already for 3 years, since fifa 23 when I restarted playing after 5 years, so it could be an issue for a longer time already.

Sometimes it happens, sometimes it does not.

Already replaced wires, controllers, anything...  it has nothing to do with that. As mentioned by someone before, it is only an issue in online modes, so nothing on the user end.

And nothing you can do but accept it.

If you enable your on-screen controller, you will notice that it just stops registering your actions, so the players starts running and keeps on running.... and then now and then a button push does register and your player moves in another directions, again infinitely.

Bad thing is, you need to get through it for 12 minutes since there are evolutions that just require you to play a Rivals match for example. Most fun 12 minutes of the day.... ☹️

    1) USB bluetooth adapters can cause issues even when using the controller as a wired controller. An example being, a device being used, disconnecting (earbuds,) can stop the controller working. This usually resolves in around 30 seconds.

    2) On PC - cheaters can disconnect your controller / alter the game engine making players unable to run or walk.

    3) An outside the home issue with my broadband network also caused me issues in game a few years ago. Players would run off the pitch or all sprint into the opponents half as a collective!

    4) Gsync / freesync / adaptive may cause issues. Check the HDMIi/DP cable. my 144hz monitor would switch between 144hz and 60hz whilst gaming! turned out to be a dodgy cable.

    5) HDMI splitters/switches and TVs not intended for gaming can cause severe issues.

    6) 3rd party controller software.

Just a bit of info based on my own experiences.

Edit: had issues when using ryzen 3200g. ryzen 5 5600 better performance  and had no issues with ryzen 9 7900. This edit is just for people on PC.

  • I have the same issue. I play on a laptop using the keyboard. Are there any other solutions?
