    The game team confirmed that this is working as designed and active EVO players do not have the required rarity to complete the objective.

Same problem here. Played a lot of matches with and without an active evo, it does not count.

    The solution is bizarrely simple... The game doesn't consider the in progress Evo as a future stars card so you need to put another Evo card in your team or try again after the active Evo is complete
