Getting on correct server

Hey everyone,

Playing Ultimate Team on Nintendo Switch and constantly getting random ping when searching for Rivals or Champs matches—from 16ms (ideal), 36, 70, 90 to 110ms. If it’s not 16 or 36ms, I have to close and restart the game until I land on a good server. It’s super time-consuming, especially with the Switch’s slow menus and matching.

Once I get on a server, most matches stay that consistent ping 16, 36, etc.  its crazy im matching with people in Japan and Europe.  My matchmaking setting is also set to local.

Do players on PC or other consoles deal with this too? Any way to consistently get matched to local servers?

  • For the past 2 weeks I have not been able to connect to 16ping server anymore.

I have spent more hours in game searching for opponent and checking the ping on kit selection screen.  Seeing 50+ ping and leaving. Restarting the console and trying again.

have you turned off the west coast server?

  • Servers cooked? Are we preparing for FC26 servers because the gamepley and getting to the correct server is so bad today.  Why is it take over double digit attempts to connect to the correct server nearest me in location so hard?

Matchmaking settings set to Approximate Location Matchmaking - Yes.  Not on any VPN and connection is fine on fastest internet provider can give.

Ive been on since last post 5hours and only got 2 proper games at 20ping which still feels really heavy today.  I am still quitting and restarting to continue to get on a server that is good ping.

  • Why do I keep connecting to a 60+ ping server….

I quit and close the game.  Open the game and search for another rival or champs game.  Get a different ping, normally over 60+.  Quit the game and reopen.  I repeat this step numerous times for over 30mins or over 1hr on Nintendo switch till I get 16ping.  Then i try to play the game and queue with similar 16-30ping games after that.

why is it so hard for EA to connect me with the right server? I am in Vancouver, how do you guys even test this game here… just playing local lan?
