I have had the issues you have had @NornIron11 probably as long as you have had going back to the old fifa forums. Ive finally got the game to a place this year where delay is massively reduced for me. It’s not perfect but it’s much closer to being fair. The first thing i did to improve it was to get the game playing on 240fps rather than the default 60fps. Im not sure if its possible to do it on console, but it worked on pc. This dramatically improved the responsiveness.
The second improvement was by using a netduma to see what server im on. I live near London but my gameplay changes massively depending what server im placed on. More often than not it tries to out me on either the Franfurt or Paris one. If i play a German on the Franfurt server, or someone French on the Paris, the gameplay is noticeably 1 sided. The Dublin server is very laggy, but i get decent gameplay on the London or Amsterdam one.
i now believe a lot of the issues arise from the matchmaking and server selection. By putting a player on any server to get a quick game against a similar skilled player causes a lot of the issues rather than taking a few more seconds to find 2 players who live near each other who would then get a better game.
