Massive Delay in online play
I play on PC. This year so far it seems like I am getting a good 1-2 second delay between inputting a command and players responding anytime I play online. Opponents do not seem to have the same prob...

Listen, about 1-2 weeks ago I played rivals in fc 24 and had 97-98 score. Now, in fc 25 I have 79 score. Ping is the same - 25-30ms. All my pc setup is same. But packet loos is 0.8 - 0.7 now and it matters a lot as I suffer playing online, even in rush. I can see delay comparing input of my controllers. I have wired controller. So why 2 weeks ago I had 98 socre and now 79? Again you will try to say that it`s on my end? People pay big money only to suffer getting mad playing online? Because of course majority of users buy this game for online playing. It's just outrageous when you say: spend your time, record a video of your controllers, and then maybe the guys from ea will give you some advice. And maybe not. If so, it will of course be a purely formal answer.
@chachachainside While it’s my advice to not only record the video but just so you can see the delay. You can see not many know how to view the delay with the input overlay on as they post the video with out it. More often than not after checking people don’t have delay.
But besides it being my advice the ea admin asked for videos.
But if your on pc maybe try the other thread those guys are actually providing a whole bunch of videos and screenshots. It’s full of useful info.

Let me give u a tip here alright. When people say delay they don't always mean the delay is being observed in the overlay.. most of the times it is the slow gameplay that we get.. even I used to think I had delay but it is not. It is the slow gameplay which makes u feel like it's delay.... The game becomes slower for you while the opponent is completely normal... So stop repeating the same thing and try to learn something. Try to understand what the problem actually is instead of commenting the same thing.. don't be so ignorant.
- @pawanwazza I get it that’s why I linked the pc threads. I literally told you it’s likely not a server issue because people lump delay into everything.
You can post the videos to rule out delay at least from a server perspective. If you don’t post the video at least test if for yourself.
Did you not try to blame the servers? At this point I don’t even remember what all you blamed but that you didn’t have delay.
More times than not people don’t have delay. This is the problem with lumping everything into delay and why the videos are important.
Notice how much info the pc guys are posting and ea is interacting with them. It’s actually amazing how well the threads are here is another example if on pc.
But yeah when you want something fixed but very few experience it and everyone is saying delay but have all different things that they are saying it’s going to be hard for ea to fix.
But yeah hopefully more post the videos or at least visit the other threads.

When he showed the video he said when you do a knock on and the ball is 20 yards away from you that is delay when he doesn’t instantly shoot. He shouldn’t have to catch up to the ball. That’s not really a gameplay or server issue. It’s an opinion on arcade vs realistic.
This is the problem with everything is delay ea needs to fix it. Once you see the video you can either see an issue be it with ea your isp or even you need to change something in your gameplay.
I don’t know why I have to repeat that for you over and over. You should be begging others to post the video and give the info ea is asking for just like the pc threads. Look at how well those threads are going. I could not read everything but I m telling no delay doesn't mean everything alright with the servers u poor fella
Well I finally experience close to perfect gameplay after one week of playing this game since pre order launch.... Guess what time it is 5am!!!!!!!!!
So when the server is not as busy, I get good gameplay right? So how is it my isp's problem.. EA has me over thinking about everything.. literally....
So it Is pretty clear there is something wrong with the server when it is busy... It is not functioning as intended and it is being overlooked.....

Looks like they put out a patch for pc. So should be fix for them. Honestly good job from the community for adding all that info. It was nice to see the pc guys add all the needed info.

The delay will never be fixed just look at all the comments with people with 1gb wired connections the game was amazing on dial up less than 1mb years ago it's just EA can't handle the amount of players now because they never upgraded their system.
The controller overlay test is the biggest nonsense ever how could that ever work with server delay.
Of course it looks normal because it's nothing to do with our connections.
Anyone defending them just clearly has experienced it yet but there's still plenty of time as more and more people get delay with every update.
And when they do experience it they'll just stop posting because they'll know they were wrong all along.
- @NornIron11 One controller is connected to the server that’s how you can tell there is or isn’t delay. It’s pretty easy to tell who has delay and who doesn’t. Look at all the fixes the pc guys got when providing evidence.
The problem is the controllers have nothing to do with the delay the whole team is delayed, the AI etc that's why rush is just about playable because I have only one player to control. There's still delay and if I get my player in a great position to block the ball it will go through them but it's playable.
Having your AI react late or not at all in rivals has nothing to do with controller input delay.
Neither has the running in mud feeling or anything else in fact because it's server delay.
- @NornIron11 If it’s server delay you will see it though. That’s why they have all those tests. If you had server delay you would also see it in rush. Your opponent would also have it.

@RadioShaqs Nearly everyone I know that got the game early and who has delay now didn't have delay on early release the delay became alot more noticeable with full release on Friday.
So if it's not server delay "Which iit is" and we all expected to believe that everyone's broadband connection changed overnight.
I’ve had delay all the time. I played fifa every year starting from fifa 20 on ps4 with no problems. This year i got it on pc and i have super much delay in every online gamemode. On offline gamemodes it runs super smooth. I will send a video soon of how much delay i have in rivals.
The delay is crazy this year more and more players have the same problem I also think it could be a problem at the consoles end. As soon as I delete ea fc my whole console becomes faster.
might it be that consoles need the proper update to run this super heavy game??
im about to give up honestly and the game hasn’t even been out for a month haha and im already thinking of quitting entirely
- @NornIron11 If everyone you know has delay I would suggest having them post the video to show ea. At this point I doubt very many will post any examples. I would be surprised if we see 10 people all year post a video. To me it shows ea is correct in saying it’s not the servers. Maybe the pc guys will keep updating other threads with examples. They seem to be able to get things fixed.

- @NornIron11 This is exactly what I have been talking about for a long time, when I play UT I feel like the players under AI management lose position awareness and I have to direct them all, but in modes like Pro Clubs or Rush where we give input to a single player there is naturally no problem, but even in pro clubs or rush sometimes the buttons I press are not detected .for example I press the buttons needed to do the heel to ballroll skill but my player suddenly stops without doing anything.

If this was filled with footage there would be no denying it. But instead we just bash eachother and keep rambling about ping this ping that. You know it perfect that majority of players don`t even know how to make a proper video so they will just throw. But it doesnt mean they don`t have this problem. In fc 24, only 2 weeks ago I had 97-98 socre with 25-39 ping. In fc 25 with same ping and same other conditions I have 79-80. But even when I had 97-98 score I had problem with input lag like when I press acceleration button many players maybe only except the fastest with like 98-99 speed or so start accelerating 1-2 secs later. I don`t have any problem with input dealy in any other game, I have two new controllers, wired, fast internet, more than dececnt PC for any AAA game, windows 11 with all updates, AV checking PC regulrarly. Btw, there are many people who have issue with rush communtary which they can`t run off in settings like it meant to be actually. Thread about this issue already for two weeks on this forum, and still no fix and no fresh reaction. Patch has been released but there were no fix of this issue and silence from ea`s officials. So by your logic maybe people have to record some video which would prove the truth of their claims?
- @chachachainside I really disagree with you to be honest. You can link your YouTube account to your console. If you don’t know how look it up on the internet. After you have linked your account look up how to upload your clip to YouTube on console and paste your link in your reply it is that easy.
- @chachachainside I try to explain it the best I can to get people to post a video. Feel free to try to help others post their video. You can see ea ask for it and in other threads they have been interacting with all the pc guys and look at the patch notes. Most of that stuff the pc guys reported for fixed.
Go ahead argue with me refuse to post the video. Your the one with the problem and wants it fixed so your only hurting yourself and enjoyment of your game.
