Rivals Match Play Frustratingly Sluggish

Just played a a rivals match where it felt like my players spent the whole match playing through sand. Soooo frustrating. I assume it’s a latency issue and, despite the fact that my pre-match ping was 28ms, I felt like my command of my players was incredibly sluggish. Doesn’t always/normally feel like this, so I’m wondering if anyone else has been experiencing it recently or whether it could just be a matter of my opponent having a faster connection. Incidentally, it was played at my stadium (if that is any indicator of which player my sit closer to the host server), but my opponent seemed to be playing “downhill” on me the whole match. Even my player switching was a beat slow (which cost me time and again, especially when I was trying to defend centrally and kept dragging my defender the wrong way because I was expecting to have already toggled to the next defender). I’m playing on an XBOX One for what it’s worth. any suggestions on how to avoid this incredibly frustrating scenario in the future are most welcome.

  • That’s why I link that thread. There are so many posts ea doesn’t always respond. Whats good about that thread is they not only respond but they even respond twice. But yeah I agree John should post in there. It would be nice to see what ea says about his connection.

RadioShaqs I went to the link you shared but didn’t see anything about EA “going over connections” (just folks pissed off and EA doing their usual “send us data and then we’ll go radio silent” routine). Indeed, as I read that thread I just got more frustrated that others are experiencing the same issues and that EA doesn’t seem to be taking it seriously. Would love to be proven wrong about that last, so…

EA, if you’re listening, please tell me how I can get a better gameplay experience. Just for the record, my XBOX is wired (by Ethernet cable) to my modem (which is more than new enough to handle my internet connection, which usually runs above 225 mbps download and 17 Mbps upload). My ping at the time of matchmaking is usually between 24ms and 28ms and so I expect a smooth, fun gameplay experience but am now routinely experiencing an infuriatingly sluggish one in Rivals/Champions matches (Rush not generally an issue). Not sure at this point why I would ever pay for FC 26 when it comes out but hope springs eternal that someone at EA will take the questions/concerns voiced here (and in the related thread referenced in this discussion) and provide answers/suggestions (instead of just empty requests for user data with no follow up).

    EA is transparent 😂😂

Whatever they are paying you, I hope it's worth your dignity 😂

  • I don’t get paid by ea. I just like helping people. I think a lot of people think it’s a server issue but that thread is pretty clear it’s not. I know you wanted an answer from ea for a long time so glad you got one. I know it’s not the one you wanted but at least they are upfront with you. I hope you can fix your high packet loss.

Dude, let it go lmao. I don't have high packet loss. If you aren't paid, you're being gaslit into cognitive oblivion.

If you like helping people, kindly educate yourself on networking, then come back with some actual help. All you're doing is angering people. If you pull your nose out from EAs tight arse, maybe you will see things a tad clearer. Good luck to you.
