SBC Softban or something else?
Hey,
Today I was grinding the SBC exchanges when all of a sudden I received this pop-up:
“There was an error communicating with the Football Ultimate Team servers. Please try again.” Unaware that this was a softban, I kept trying to do the SBCs again, restarted the game — but nothing helped. After searching online, I figured out it must be a softban (never had one before). It happened about seven hours ago and I still can’t do any SBCs, so maybe something else is wrong…
In a forum post from 9 months ago by the community manager (Re: I am just getting kicked out after i change something in my team in ut). I found a possible fix that other people have also mentioned:
Possible workaround:
1.From Squad Management, remove your active Squad and create a new one.
2.Check if one of your players on the bench is also in the SBC Duplicate Storage.
If yes, send it to your Club and try to start a new game.
Unfortunately, this didn’t fix the issue for me. I see that many other people are also dealing with these softbans. I’d like to know how long a softban usually lasts — 1, 7, 10, or 24 hours? (considering this is my first one).
EA, maybe it would help to clearly state when a softban has been given instead of showing a generic “error communicating with the server” message. Even better would be a timer so we, as end-users, know exactly what’s going on.
P.S. Apologies for this long paragraph — I just want to raise awareness for others who might experience this for the first time :)
