Since new patch defenders are non existent and let the players run by them, goalkeepers have no hands and save nothing, game is an absolute shambles now and your company deserves to be shut down.

Manual defending is finally important and is rewarded. That's why I think the change is good.
Nah, you still need your defence to have some shape and to have the ability to close down and make tackles. It is horrific now.
For too long the game has been too easy to defend. Now players have to anticipate what the opponent is going to do and switch to a defender to make a tackle or intercept whereas before it was all done for you. This is a big improvement and finally rewards people who are skilled on manual defence rather than those who just run back with a midfielder and let the ai do all the work for them
Fine in theory but you can only control a player at a time and it also assumes switching, tackling etc do as expected. Currently, on my gameplay at least it isn’t and it is awful. The amount of ridiculous penalties has increased too. Every challenge and blocked shot is a penalty.
It was a bad move from ea. First thing everyone said is you no longer need manual offense because it’s so easy now. So they have lowered the skill gap. We need offense to take skill. The problem is people like easy offense as it’s what sells games. I really don’t know why people want to just run past defenders. It’s why in the past we had full backs or even attackers at cb to try to keep up with pace. I wouldn’t be surprised if we don’t go back to that again.

Played a few games, and i'm loving this new patch more and more. takes some adjustment and unlearning of stuff. But feels really rewarding. And i rather play 4-4 this way then win 1-0 and nothing happens.
