This. I first played it last year and - as anyone - had to start with crap but got a good team in the first week (without spending money). As the year went on I'd say it only got marginally better. What's the point?
This year it's the same. I did some evolutions but you can get good players cheap on the trade market. I never get them from packs - because of course I don't - but 15K isn't a lot of coins. You only need 11 players.
I honestly thought it was some sort of an error or bug when I saw all the loans and foundation players in there.
Less and less being given this year in various ways, the stingiest they have ever been with reward packs, together with the proven lowest pack weight ever.
For someone like me who doesn't use loans this is beyond terrible.
I usually last with this game until at least TOTY but honestly, I'm already considering moving on.
Gameplay problems aside, if a game has you playing for rewards, but those rewards are unrewarding, there's no point.
@ricm0nkeyThis game has you playing for rewards? Why not play other gamemodes? I'm doing that more and more. It's simply a lot more fun on simulation settings than playing UT which imo doesn't even look like real soccer. More like a pinball machine. Way too fast and catering towards people with a disturbed attention span.
You know why the loans are there. It's the lack of other decent rewards that's a problem. It is becomes "pay to play" - if that is a term - then all the casual players will stop playing the mode and it will be dead, causing paying players to abandon as well. Because what's the point of pay2win if there's nobody to win from?
It isn't about cards holding value.
Promo cards, Hero cards, and Icons are too rare. Value is irrelevant IMO because you shouldn't need 14 million coins to play with & enjoy Pele.
Even SBC costs are silly. The new Keane hero moment SBC is way overpriced.
This is supposed to be a video game not a second job.
It's very simple
Last season rewards were too good so people weren't buying packs.
Now the season rewards are crap, so therefore they throw promo pack after promo pack and completely overpriced SBC's out in the hopes of people spending money on packs, especially as the game has done less well than before (which explains why they have already done a massive discounted offer on it)
EA are panicking that their cash cow is failing
Bad review after bad review
Complaints after complaints as the game was released unfinished and in a less than even beta state.
A toxic community they cannot (or will not) control who do everything they can to cheat the game and ruin it for others that leads them to leave.
Not even EA's employees can defend this game anymore
