The Dutch football community has been asking for this for years, and frankly, it's long overdue. The Keuken Kampioen Divisie (KKD) needs to be in EA FC.
I first wrote about this over six years ago when my club was relegated. Watching your team drop out of the Eredivisie is painful enough — finding out they've also vanished from your favourite football game makes it worse. My club has since come back up, so I can enjoy EA FC again, but thousands of Dutch players aren't that lucky. Their clubs — and the entire second tier of Dutch football — simply don't exist in the game.
This isn't a niche request. The KKD is home to historic clubs like Willem II, De Graafschap, and ADO Den Haag, clubs with enormous fanbases, rich histories, and real cultural weight in the Netherlands. Relegation and promotion battles in the KKD are fiercely contested, and the league produces genuine talent that feeds into the Eredivisie and beyond. Excluding it from EA FC is a glaring gap.
The benefits for gameplay are clear on two fronts. In Career Mode, the KKD would add a fully authentic promotion/relegation system for the Netherlands — something players in England, Germany, Spain and France already take for granted. Starting a save at a KKD club and grinding your way up to the Eredivisie is exactly the kind of long-term challenge that makes Career Mode compelling. In Ultimate Team, it opens up a fresh set of players and a new layer of the Dutch football pyramid, which can only add depth.
There is already a petition with nearly 2,300 signatures — and that's just the people who happened to find it: https://www.change.org/p/nl-de-keuken-kampioen-divisie-in-eafc-26-eng-the-dutch-second-tier-in-eafc-26. The real number of players who want this is far greater.
EA Sports clearly recognise the value of Dutch football — adding De Kuip to EA FC 25 was a brilliant move, and it's appreciated. But a stadium without the full league structure behind it only goes so far. Let's take the next logical step and bring the KKD to the game.
Sign the petition, share it, and let EA Sports hear us.
